Rare mking8288 Posted February 5, 2018 Author #26 Share Posted February 5, 2018 Unrelated, but, in case one's Specialty Dining choice isn't available, check on Moderno - our server said it is popular among solo traveler, sort of upscale buffet without the crowd & they bring a variety of meal to you. Moderno's (2017) menu, some felt it has been scaled back from earlier ... YMMV. Personally, I can feast full with the salad bar sections alone & dessert, AYCE pricing. Just for reference, Cagney's Steakhouse Menu (Nov 2017) uploaded, it's a la carte pricing. Paul Bogle Posted February 5, 2018 #27 Share Posted February 5, 2018 Well, isn't that's wonderful for enjoying prime ribs, not entirely new - was offering that on other ships in the past year. Had it on the Gem & Breakaway, just not the most recent BA sailing last November - they offered several nightly specials, also with BBQ, "Seafood" Basket at OSH. It was also offered in the MDR, if not the same evening, then the following evening or vice versa - so you won't "miss" it. Besides, you can always enjoy a supersized "supper" by eating again, not what if they are swiping your guest keycard to keep track of meal counts - it's complimentary. What was different last November was the "themed" specials shifted nightly in the Breakaway's buffet, i.e. Italian, BBQ, Asian and "American", etc. Get a hold of the "current" Freestyle Dailies upon embarkation & glance to see what's being highlighted & offered - that's "freestyle dining" without planning ahead, much easier on mid-sized ships. Roll Calls just ahead of your upcoming cruise are also great source of "intelligence" to make last minute decisions. wow
James_Elmore Posted February 5, 2018 #28 Share Posted February 5, 2018 First night seems to me prime rib night in buffet oshs and main dining rooms or that's how it was last year on dawn out of nola. Sent from my Moto G (4) using Tapatalk
robmac330 Posted February 11, 2018 #29 Share Posted February 11, 2018 The 7 Layer Cake at Cagney's on the Dawn had me seriously considering making another reservation just to have dessert!:hearteyes::hearteyes:

Rare mking8288 Posted February 11, 2018 Author #31 Share Posted February 11, 2018 (edited) The 7 Layer Cake ... had me seriously considering making another reservation just to have dessert! [emoji813]eyes:[emoji813]eyes:[emoji813]eyes: MDR's desserts aren't bad either, if only the pastry chef can be more creative with varieties, as they used to. Old timers surely remember the Presidential/WH & Cooking Light menus. Well, you sure can go to Cagney's just for dessert ... being a la carte priced. How about these from LeBistro ... sometimes, it's also the presentation & setting. Our next sailing is end of April, I'm expecting some changes & hopefully, new & different ones, just for the change. The MDR lunch is good, just difficult to repeat the same for 5 days or more. Food opinions are subjective & personal ... I think we are agreed. chime83 Posted February 14, 2018 #32 Share Posted February 14, 2018 OSH does a hot breakfast daily, nice & big (except on disembarkation morning ... where you can get a limited Express Breakfast Menu in the MDR that's open ... I will post that later) OSH's Breakfast Menu is here, not as nice as the MDR with much more options, but ... Nice & quiet on the Gem, they bring the food out to you. Sent from my dual sim KIW-L24 Honor 5X using Tapatalk Hi there, O’Sheehans was open on disembarkation day as we were on the Jewel in December and went to o’sheehans every morning for breakfast. Rare mking8288 Posted May 28, 2018 Author #33 Share Posted May 28, 2018 (edited) Updated, per request, these are still being used as All Day Room Services Menu, unless staying in Haven ... good for most ships, as always - exceptions will apply, YMMV. Breakfast item: Smoked Salmon on a half toasted bagel & pancake special w Salmon. via dual sim QISKIW-L24 using AT&T or T-Mo on Tapatalk Edited May 28, 2018 by mking8288

O'Sheehan's has a late night menu, basically shorter & simplified menu with fewer items offered ... same one used for late night Room Service (with a nominal fee/cover charge + 20%) AFAIK as we never ordered it, not even when we're doing the 15 days on the Escape recently. If you follow the SIGNature link below to the Semi-Live Limited review/pictorial blog, we have all 14 MDR evenings posted with some pictures. It seemed like nothing really "new" for 2019 has rolled out yet @Graphicsguy just got back this Sunday (we're on the same Gem roll call last Spring) might have something newer to post/share - feel free to post & ask him, just started his pictorial review. Well, prices has been bumped up for Specialty Dining, nothing new really ... Edited March 11, 2019 by mking8288

dexddd Posted March 12, 2019 #39 Share Posted March 12, 2019 I don't recall floating islands but do cooking light. Despite the name, we found some really good items on the menu.
