kellyco Posted February 14, 2018 #1 Share Posted February 14, 2018 We have an OTW at Nellie's that I purchased on "sale" a while ago. We are in an ATS which gives us access to Barefoot Beach. I asked our genie if we could get a cabana at Barefoot for the price I paid at Nellie's and was told no. Not having real experience with either beach, would you spend the extra $100 for Barefoot or stay at Nellie's. I assume we can go to Barefoot for the lunch there. Is one more crowded than the other, rocky, rougher? Any thoughts or insights would be appreciated.
Clarea Posted February 14, 2018 #2 Share Posted February 14, 2018 Nellie's is generally more crowded as it is not access controlled like Barefoot. Since you are in a full suite, you will have access to the upgraded lunch at Barefoot.
tullers Posted February 14, 2018 #3 Share Posted February 14, 2018 Wouldn't recommend barefoot - the ground will get very hot.
yuvraj Posted February 14, 2018 #4 Share Posted February 14, 2018 My preference would be pay extra and get a cabana at Barefoot. Less crowded plus the convenience of upgraded without having to move from one beach to another. I really enjoyed it and if you have a suite then enjoy the exclusivity. George C Posted February 14, 2018 #5 Share Posted February 14, 2018 We loved barefoot beach , lunch was great, loads of waiters to get drinks , bring towels and floats, beach was rocky
slkrgk Posted February 14, 2018 #6 Share Posted February 14, 2018 Had the OTW cabana at Nellie's twice and are doing that again in March. We loved it.

Cruise a holic Posted February 15, 2018 #9 Share Posted February 15, 2018 Ditto. Another vote for barefoot if you are in a suite.
prim8keeper Posted February 15, 2018 #10 Share Posted February 15, 2018 We have had OTW cabanas on both and I prefer Barefoot just because as others have said it is less crowded. That said you can walk over to Barefoot from Nellies to eat lunch. From both cabanas we could access the water directly so even though the beach will be more crowded it may not be a huge issue. Like you I would struggle with what to do since I love to save! [emoji3] Sent from my iPad using Forums
mattpro Posted February 15, 2018 #11 Share Posted February 15, 2018 Barefoot is a 100 yards away so it only costs you a dollar a yard. The walk to Barefoot is worth the better BBQ Don't forget your water shoes.
jamesr3939 Posted February 15, 2018 #12 Share Posted February 15, 2018 Go with Barefoot even if you "downgrade" to a beach cabana. We have had three "S" cabanas on BB and love them.
Rare SteelCityCruiser10 Posted February 15, 2018 #13 Share Posted February 15, 2018 OTW is our #1 choice but we have also had a hillside cabana on B.B. which was awesome as well. Sent from my iPhone using Forums

Cruise a holic Posted February 16, 2018 #16 Share Posted February 16, 2018 over the water Sent from my iPhone using Forums we once had an OTC that was on the very top. The view was wonderful and very private. On the negative side, you had to walk down a rock path to get to the water, either on Nellies beach or Barefoot beach. I wouldn't recommend for people with young children or those who want to spend a lot of time in the water.
papaflamingo Posted February 16, 2018 #17 Share Posted February 16, 2018 I wouldn't pay the extra to move. If you have an OTW you'll have plenty of privacy at Nellies. We had one a few years ago when it was still affordable, and loved it. We had direct access to the water and only went on the beach to go to lunch or the restroom. BUT, love Barefoot too. So definitely walk over there to eat. Much better buffet and much less crowded. But for me, I wouldn't pay $100 to move a OTW cabana.
kellyco Posted February 16, 2018 Author #18 Share Posted February 16, 2018 Thanks for all your replies. We have decided to stay at Nellie's and can go to Barefoot for lunch. The Nellie's cabanas seem to have more shade, from pictures I have seen, which is important to us.
