Static events Posted March 1, 2018 #1 Share Posted March 1, 2018 Hi all, How much are the cabanas? Do you hire them per day or per hour or .........? Thanks
2theship Posted March 1, 2018 #2 Share Posted March 1, 2018 Where? From the ship on a private island or in a port at a specific resort? Or do you mean the ones that are onboard a couple of the ships?

Zigster Posted March 1, 2018 #4 Share Posted March 1, 2018 On the ship they are $249 for a sea day. $99 when the ship is in port.
Rare killsport Posted March 1, 2018 #5 Share Posted March 1, 2018 Those prices ($249/$99) are for 9am-9pm (so you get the whole day of an assigned cabana; has your name on it -- literally). You usually get a fruit/cheese platter and some bottled waters as well. The cabanas hold 4 people comfortably, but we've had 6-8 for short periods of time. jelayne Posted March 1, 2018 #7 Share Posted March 1, 2018 For us No. no real loungers, a lot of folks gawking, if weather isn’t great you just blew $250- rained off and on the day we had reserved.
justcrusn Posted March 1, 2018 #8 Share Posted March 1, 2018 We had one on a sea day. Too windy to put the shade top up, so it was pretty bright... The DW loved the experience! The prices have increased since our cabana,so I’d be reluctant to get one at the new prices.

I don’t see the real value in them. If they included food then maybe... If you buy a table at a beach club it normally includes food/drink. DebInAntigua Posted May 17, 2019 #13 Share Posted May 17, 2019 The Cabanas are listed on the Cruise Planner for ours (< 6 months out now), but no luck reserving them. Wonder why they won’t let you pre-book them.
Rare DENIE Posted May 17, 2019 #14 Share Posted May 17, 2019 Thought about reserving one, but decided to pass. Once on board (Silhouette, November 2018), they looked nice, but they just did not offer enough. The concept is nice, but the pool is on another deck. Plus, if the weather is iffy or windy, then you just blew your money. Perhaps if we had a lot of OBC, but otherwise, probably not...
Cruise a holic Posted May 17, 2019 #15 Share Posted May 17, 2019 (edited) We have truly enjoyed the Alcoves and find them a great option on sea days. We always had a comfortable place to sit- no chair hogs. Since we aren't sun worshippers, it has a awning to block the sun. The attendant brought us drinks, water, lunch , a bottle of champagne, fruit and cheese on the day we rented it-, all included. We also have had visitors join us in the cabana and got the same perks. In order to get alcoholic and soft drinks, you need the drink package, or if not you pay per drink, however bottled water, the other perks listed are included. We always prebook. Call if not listed on your cruise planner- or try closer to your sail date. If not, book as soon as you board if any left. Well worth it! You have it backwards.
Cruise a holic Posted May 17, 2019 #21 Share Posted May 17, 2019 (edited) You are correct Sorry. But my point is most people do not rent an entire week. We did it once and got a 20% discount. Also, some people share the cost. I recommend if your first time- do one sea day if you can. Some people spend a significant amount for a shore excursion . So if you consider the alcove as an onboard shore x- not really that expensive- especially for a family of four, or two couples. Also, if for example you ship stops in Puerto Rico- ours did-but we docked at 3PM and we had no interest in a late shore x- or having dinner ashore- so we booked a cabana- it was at the port day rate. Had been to PR previously. Enjoy Edited May 17, 2019 by Cruise a holic
