Rental Car Return Close to POM

Which car rental agency and what street should I return a rental car to?

 

I will be picking up at FLL and staying at the Homewood Suites Brickell in Miami prior to the cruise.

 

Hoping to have a return close to the hotel.

The Hampton will hit you with about a $25 parking fee - you might think about dropping the car off the night before and avoiding the parking fee - you do not need a car in Miami. Using Uber, Lyft or a taxi to get to POM is easy and should coat about $10-15.

 

Avis and Dollar have offices close to POM on 2nd. Hertz also has a downtown location close to the port.

 

Your other option is to drop the car at the MIA airport where National, Alamo, Thrifty and Enterprise offer free shuttles to POM.

Double check with the rental location you plan to drop off at..some are not open, or have limited hours on weekends or on Sunday.

I do not think Budget offers a shuttle from MIA to POM, only from their downtown location. But, if you get a better rate dropping at MIA or it is easier, a taxi to POM from the MIA airport will run $27+tip or UberX will be under $20

Will be staying in the Fort Lauderdale area for a few days, prior to cruise out of POM.

The plan is to pick up the rental car at FLL and return at downtown Miami or MIA.

It looks like the Budget rates are identical, whether dropping off at MIA or downtown.
