Credit Cards/Charging Onboard

Recommended Posts

We will be sailing with our 2 adult kids and 3 teenage grandkids. We want to pay for most onboard expenses, but want them to have the option to make small purchases, such as tee shirts, souvenirs, on their own credit card. What is the best way to handle this? For example, could we let adult daughter have her own credit card assigned to her account to let her or the kids buy small items, and then everyone else's account linked to our card? Then if we are at a specialty dining venue, just tell them to put her meal on our account and not hers?

Also, we will have some OBC for each of 3 cabins from the TA. I understand that won't be applied till we are onboard. But I think it's better to pre-purchase some things before boarding, such as soda packages and wi-fi? So in that cases the OBC couldn't be used for that?

Thanks in advance to everyone for your comments.

You can assign onboard accounts any way you like, to separate credit cards, same credit card, or some separate and some the same. You can use Royal OBC and Visa Points OBC for any pre-cruise purchase.

We sail with our adult children, their spouse's and toddler grandchildren very often. I just find it personally easier to just link their SeaPass account to mine and my credit card...their aren't really that many small purchase's they make. When we take them on a cruise it's a gift from us and feel it shouldn't cost them anything to go with us.
