Lets get Baked!

 

Dough! Just a couple of rolls. These were the standard dinner rolls that go oh so well with everything.

 

 

This garlic bread was the second best smelling thing in there. Right after the fresh baked bread smell. I gained ten pounds just from the smell.

 

These were to be delivered to the 742 Evergreen Terrace suite

After the trip to deck 4, we went down to the final galley on 3

 

Deck maps look a little different for the crew

 

I do what I want. As long as I pay for it. And it's an approved tour.

 

No wonder I missed this bar in an impromptu bar crawl, it was closed

 

So on this deck we also find the pastry shop with all the sweet treats. Super watchful eyes so I didn't snag me any samples.

 

On the other side they had the veggie prep station.

I believe there is a free version for the D+ or Pinnacle and Star Suite guests, alas I am not much more than a gold member, so not privy to that kind of enjoyment. At least, not for a many more years

I believe there was some very soft music played in the hidden speakers, but we only really remember hearing more so sounds of crickets chirping and what not. I believe the music I heard was the music from Royal Promenade that's very muffled.

 

As far as the Central Park balconies all the xx229 have the double wide, as well as the ones across, the xx629 series of cabins. Surprisingly, of the 600+ photos that we took, I don't have any that really show those balconies. Maybe I'll be able to get a screenshot from the GoPro videos when I get to editing those and will post them up.

The tour moves on to deck two

 

Our first crew only deck, if you don't count the boarding areas

 

First we got to meat the storage areas

 

 

This is where they hide all those pre-made meals mentioned elsewhere on these boards

 

I have a decent number of pictures of frozen meat. For reasons. Or I had mentally made a bunch of puns that I've since forgotten. Which is probably for the better.

 

Following the meat storage areas, we entered the fruit and produce provision areas, of which I took no pictures. Figured I butchered it at the meat department.

 

And a bunch of eggs ready to be shipped up to one of the galleys elsewhere.

 

So here our tour was handed over from the Executive Sous Chef who had gone over the galley to the provisions master. Some quick fun trivia. A 7 day cruise on an O class of ships costs approximately $1,000,000 to stock in food products. They order a majority of what they need two months in advanced. Fruits and other short term perishables will get sourced from local vendors, while everything else is brought over from the States.

After provisions, we walked into the incinerator room. Luckily since it hasn't been used as much, the smell was not over whelming. Like you could tell trash goes in there, but not like you walked into a dump. More like a large, full trash can. Anyways. Enough trash talk.

 

Specialized lift to move provisions up and down to other storage areas. Also doubles as a watertight door when closed.

They do take recycling seriously

 

And the big fancy compactor and burners. No Environmental Officer was present so we didn't get to see much of the process, just some oohs and ahhs. And what's that smells

 

Feed me your trash said the machine

 

And at the other end of I95 near the crew mess, there was all the bikes for the crew to use in port.

You're welcome. And it wasn't out of the way at all, it helped us make sure we hit all the bars.And we actually went to Salou for the beach and amusement park. So another trip to Barcelona for the city will have to be planned out. We did learn that the Barcelona Airport doesn't make for a very good hotel lol.

Well the good news is, is that there is indeed brief footage of the xx629 series of balconies on a video of our room I am working on. Once the computer I'm attempting to work on cooperates. And glad that the pictures are coming out well, as they're just from the phone with no touch ups at all.

So next stop in the tour was the laundry department. We skipped over deck 1 and deck 0 and went into the washing room on the tween deck.

 

All the big washers. In the far back you can see the crew laundry machine

 

Might be just slightly larger than my washer at home. Something like 600 pounds or kilograms at time in an hour through this one machine. There's a much larger one behind these that does all the big stuff, but hard to see

 

Underneath there's a ton of space and pipes

 

Least they sort their laundry. This happened to be crew linens or something

As mentioned in the build thread, apparently laundry department was taking no chances the presumably sub-par welds from Harmony making their way into here. So I guess it's held together by bubblegum, duck tape and dreams

Well there's a few options to it

1. Let the fish handle a fork from Wonderland and he'll poke his eyes out

2. Cover the face with a napkin

3. Just ask the server to work some magic and get all the meat off for you.

 

While the first option could be entertaining, your server can and will help you out. Our server showed me a quick trick to get all the meat off quickly.

 

 

 

On a seven night cruise they will have two formal nights. Since ours was a five night cruise we only had one.

Part x+1, because we all need to use that super important Algebra that they taught us

 

Bridge tour time. After the laundry room, we took the elevators up to deck 12 and hung out in the lobby awaiting permission to enter the bridge. Two security team members were waiting and gave us a once over with the metal detector wands. Then we waited until the bridge said they were ready. We were also briefed that we could take plenty of pictures, but absolutely no video allowed. There was also a designated space for us to wander around in, which more or less was from the center to the port wing. I accidentally crossed that line when I was looking at the watertight door indicator board, to which the first officer quickly corrected my course. Oops lol

 

They definitely have a great view

 

And a nice place to sit and relax. I'm sure the execs onboard spent plenty of time here

I’ll be skipping a try with this drink. No offense. I don’t like bloody Mary’s either.

It typically contains vodka, a caesar mix (a blend of tomato juice and clam broth), hot sauce, and Worcestershire sauce, and is served with ice in a large, celery salt-rimmed glass, typically garnished with a stalk of celery and wedge of lime.
