havanadaydreaming Posted April 1, 2018 #26 Share Posted April 1, 2018 I've done Mega and I've done smaller, both have pros and cons. the industry will always evolve. my wife has cruised for her entire life and has stories of old time sailings. meh. (I've done all my trips this decade) I DO like it when fewer ships are in a port when I'm there. davy jones Posted April 2, 2018 #27 Share Posted April 2, 2018 It's supply and demand. If there's enough demand, someone will supply it. However, it may not be Norwegian, Royal, or Carnival.
Notnewtoit Posted April 2, 2018 #28 Share Posted April 2, 2018 Since I know NCL read this... "no thank you!". PLEASE keep a mix... some large, some small, Jewels hit the sweet spot IMHO. If NCL went all-mega I'd move on.
kcdancerkc Posted April 3, 2018 #29 Share Posted April 3, 2018 I think that everything goes in cycles, in 30 years it will be a “new” thing to go on smaller ships for a different generation

All the "we go for the ship and don't get off at the ports" people will end up winning. :p

fshagan Posted April 3, 2018 #32 Share Posted April 3, 2018 I think the next round of ships coming to NCL are the Project Leonardo ships that are smaller than the mega ships with 4,000+ berths. The Breakaway Plus class is around 4,200 berths and the Project Leonardo ships are 3,300. I think the Jewel class ships are around 2,500.
