Time neded to get off for shore excursions?

Recommended Posts

Hi there approximately how much time should we allocate to get off the ship to make our shore excursion (not booked through the ship). This would be for European ports on a Oasis class ship. Thanks!

It does depend on which port. But it takes a while to "empty" an Oasis class ship.

We were always ready to get off the gangway when the ship docked and we were cleared to get off the ship. We booked with private drivers and tours and they were able to tell when the ship started letting passengers off. The reliable tour operators and private drivers are familiar with the process and they'll be sitting waiting on you or standing with a sign with your name on it, so really it's not a problem. They wanted us to get off as quickly as possible so they could get away from the port area with us quickly to beat the cruise line tours.
