Recommended Posts

Anyone have a favorite hotel to stay at in Miami pre cruise? If so why is it your favorite?

Hampton Inn/Brickell and Intercontinental are both very nice hotels both located in downtown Miami. They are reasonably priced and close to the port (a short cab or Uber drive to the port).

We usually fly into Fort Lauderdale and then take SAS Transportation to our hotel in Miami, then have SAS pick us up after our cruise and take us back to the Fort Lauderdale airport. We prefer Fort Lauderdale airport over Miami.

Dates and budget would help the suggestions to be closer to your target. The $300+ room on a holiday weekend in Feb can go for under $100 in August. Travelling with kids or as a couple? Honeymoon? Anniversary? Driving? Flying into MIA or FLL?

Conrad Miami (Great rooftop pool), and DoubleTree by Hilton Grand Hotel Biscayne Bay (good for groups or families because you can get a condo-style room with multiple bedrooms and a kitchen.)

Last time I was in Miami, I stayed at the Intercontinental and enjoyed it. There were plenty of nice restaurants in the walkable area as well as a Walgreens for incidentals.
We are staying here next week. Is it close to any shopping malls or large grocery stores?

Hands down....the Intercontinental!

You can see the ship across the bay.

Hotel done right!

Another vote for the Intercontinental. It's usually a Priceline express deal too - I often get it around $100-$120/night. A quick Uber ride to port!

Marriott Biscayne Bay because it's clean, comfortable, we had a great view of the bay and cruise ships, and it's very close to port.

Plus u can walk to the metro mover which has stops at lots of great restaurant areas, or just walk one street over to the publix supermarket to buy wine or stuff.
