Day Pass to the Yacht Club?????

Very interesting thread. I guess it boils down to trust - do you trust MSc will continue to offer day passes in limited numbers or do you believe they will cave to the money train?

If they allow the YC to get overcrowded, the YC will lose its exclusivity and will cease to sell out on each booking.

Plus, at $110 per person per day, you aren't going to find too many people willing to pay that, only to be told what they can do and when they are allowed to do it.  NCL canceled theirs, but they screwed up by pricing it too cheaply (I want to say $50 pp pd) so people would buy without thinking twice.

This is a super old thread. This topic hasn't been brought up much here (if at all), , so I suspect that MSC is keeping it quiet. Maybe someone on more recently can comment.

All I can say, is if there are people willing to pay $110 on top of their regular fare for just one day inside the YC with the limited amenities that would provide (no personal butler, no free drinks thru out the ship, no free mini bar, no vip boarding/disembarking, no room extras, etc. etc.) then I know I made the right choice staying in the YC.

Please keep the riff raff out of the YC. (the preceding was an example of tongue-in-cheek sarcasm, FYI)..... 😆

Here, here Sid...well said. I reiterate, MSC is conducting tours through the YC in order to cultivate more interest and bookings with those who are planning future cruises. They are doing this with discretion and placing limits on the number of people allowed in the YC. I don’t think I saw more than 1 tour while I was sailing...no problem. I did not hear 1 complaint about this. Everyone seemed to be enjoying the view.

I was drinking coffee  up at the front of the TSL when a behind-the-scenes tour came through.  I was actually delighted to talk to them and explain how much I loved sailing in the YC.

Nice of you to do that PS.  They usually conduct the tour mid morning when the TS Lounge is quiet.  The YC is so secluded that most pax don’t even realize it’s there.
It’s a good way to show off the ship and increase future bookings.

I also was in the top sail lounge when the tour came through. They were a small and well escorted group and seem to go as fast as they came. I thought was an excellent way for people to get a chance to see and experience a bit of YC before committing to it. I saw nothing wrong with it at all and it does help MSC branding.  AND only 28 more days to go till my 2nd YC cruise, this time on the MSC Meraviglia out of Miami! Sooo excitied!

We had tour by pool on last trip, maybe 20 people.  They were taking tons of pictures and seemed to act like they had landed on the moon.  Think it was when we were at Nassau and had spotty showers.  Pretty sure they were TAs.

The Yacht Club, especially the Deluxe Suites must be taking off. I just got done checking and unless I missed something, I can find no Deluxe Suites available, on the Seaside sailing the Caribbean out of Miami, for all of 2020.

Those dates opened a while ago. Some people (like me) book around 1-2 years ahead.

I think you're doing something wrong.  I just checked the MSC site and, for example, it shows several available for the November 28 sailing.  There were also some available on the Nobember 7 sailing.  And those were the only 2 I checked.

I'm sorry, I should have been more precise in my original post. What I should have said is I couldn't find any 14 day cruises. Since we travel from AZ and go the day early, we want to spread the daily cost out over 14 days (either a 14 day cruise or two 7day cruises B2B, rather than just 7, just a personal thing. When we booked our cruise that we took this October, we had several choices of dates and went with the October 5-19 date. FYI, we paid less than any of the 7 day cruises available in 2020.
