The Mariners medallion and brunch was today.

DH and I got our silver medallions (the most expensive piece of jewellry I own). But what was nice was after Ocean1980 got their medallions, they were asked to stay and they called us back up.

Ocean1980 and we sailed on our 1st Holland America cruise together and were receiving our silvers at the same time so they did a pic of the 4 of us. I thought it was a nice gesture.

Here is the menu from the Mariners luncheon

Any wonder why the Irish have no love for the English? Nice picture of the P'dam at anchor.

Allan

Our one guide's dislike showed quite well Allan. He would say 300 years of English oppression.

The next day we were at Zeebrugges, Belgium.

Gigianne had arranged for taxi transfers around 24 of us to Bruges.

We were late arriving due to fog and poor gigianne had to reach the taxi company to change our pick up time.

Looks like I didn't take pics of that When and Where (I have 2 at seas instead!). Could it have been subconscious because it was my birthday?

Bruges is always so beautiful.

Our pick up time was originally 4:30 but as long as the group concurred you could come back whenever suited.

We opted for a 7 pm pick up as we planned to meet later to have some drinks and a bite together.

We were really lucky as we arrived on a Wednesday which is market day in Bruges.

The flowers were calling to me....

But with so few days left and not being able to take them off the ship, I resisted temptation.

After a bit of wandering DH and I decided to savour some flavour.

We had all agreed that we should each test and if we found a decent place get together there later.

Fortunately we have learned to share. Portions are huge.

This was a fixed price menu. It came with pate, mussels and dessert (we chose).

We ordered for one and left very satisfied.

Pate was made on site and very good.

And it was followed by a mousse type dessert.

Too rich for my taste (chocolate) but I know a few people it would have appealed to. ;)

There were only locals eating here when we sat down which is always a good sign.

Here is the restaurant
