Star Itinerary Change/Barcelona 5/24

We are on the Star leaving out of Barcelona on 5/24. We have been advised of an itinerary change in which Citivecchia and Livorno have been switched. NCL gives no reason for the change, but we did need to scramble to switch shore excursions. Anyone have any idea why? Thanks - Steve

Ships in Port:Norwegian Spirit, Norwegian Star, Nautica, MSC Divina

Port Load:2240 Passengers

Ships in Port:Norwegian Star

 

Maybe they switched days so the port load is not that heavy May 26th Civitavecchia has no ships scheduled in that Port

This has happened to us several times on Celebrity's Med itineraries involving Athens, Santorini and Mykonos. Each and every time, the captain made the decision to switch days so there would be fewer ships in port with us. I had excursions booked with private vendors and each time Guest Services contacted them advising of the switch (after I inquired).

We are on the same cruise . It is my understanding NCL made the change due to a bicycle race http://www.giroditalia.it/eng/ .

 

Probably a pain for everyone that has excursions booked, but I believe this is a good thing. Many of the streets in the areas of the Trevi Fountain, Colosseum, Circuis Maximio, etc will be closed for the race.
