Leaving from Miami

Any tips on inexpensive hotels in Miami to stay at the night before the cruise leaves in Feb?

There are a lot of opinions/suggestions over on the hotels pre/post cruise section: http://boards.cruisecritic.com/forumdisplay.php?f=92 and there is a really nice guy over there named TrentS that is really helpful and assumably knowledgable - he's a local. You can see a lot of people ask his advice (myself included a couple of months ago) and he replies right away!!

 

Depending on when you are going (we're going in March) I will more than likely be posting how our hotel turned out that we have booked. *fingers crossed* Got it pretty cheap. I know too that some people on here have found some really great deals looking on priceline.

Downtown Miami is the closest to the port, but the airport area hotels might be quite a bit cheaper at this point... February and "inexpensive" don't necessarily go together though, and at this late date you may have to just take what you can get!
