emam Posted May 22, 2018 #1 Share Posted May 22, 2018 I'm just wondering what the new Dixons shop is like on Ventura. Has anyone on here been on her since it opened and what is your opinion of the shop.
terrierjohn Posted May 22, 2018 #2 Share Posted May 22, 2018 It's in the ships photo corridor, very similar to the old photo equipment sales area, but now run by Dixon's as a concession. It did appear to have a reasonable range of items, and this was before the refit so it might have been improved.
HikingPete Posted May 22, 2018 #3 Share Posted May 22, 2018 I was on board after the refit. Its... OK. They do price match their stock, apparently, but whilst they have a decent range of products, there's not a lot of variety, (if that makes sense). The products are at the pricier end of the market, even if not Bang and Olufsen. Even if they are slightly cheaper than the High Street, or even Amazon, for their specific models because they don't have a great variety personally I would do my shopping for those sorts of goods ahead of the cruise, or if I realised I was missing something try to pick it up at a stop. tartanexile81 Posted May 22, 2018 #5 Share Posted May 22, 2018 It was open pre-refit although it has now been extended. It was very popular on our cruise on Feb as many people had lots of OBC and bought iPhones, iPads and Fitbits. It was also eligible for your peninsular club discount if you'd used up your OBC
yuvraj Posted May 22, 2018 #6 Share Posted May 22, 2018 Its handy if you have forgotten something or want to make an impulse purchase. You can use your on board credit and also loyalty discount which is handy.
Old_tilly_billy Posted May 22, 2018 #7 Share Posted May 22, 2018 The range is small but you can order items and have them delivered to your home address for free. I ordered an iPhone that wasn't on board and it was delivered within 3 days after returning home. Apple products are slightly cheaper than UK stores plus your discount too. Monorail Orange Posted May 22, 2018 #8 Share Posted May 22, 2018 Is this Dixons as in Dixons-Carphone? (know in shop form as Currys-PCWorld) there's a blast from the past. Resisting the urge to start a thread asking what other retro stores eveyone would like to see on board... ;)
Harry Peterson Posted May 23, 2018 #9 Share Posted May 23, 2018 Shame P&O had to choose Dixons, given its poor reputation for customer satisfaction (or maybe that's no coincidence!). One good thing though (see links): "Shoppers can make the most of online-beating prices with the retailer’s ‘Double the Difference’ promise – find the same item cheaper at Amazon, John Lewis, Argos and Jessops (third party sellers excluded) and they will discount double the difference instantly." http://www.dixonscarphone.com/news-and-media/press-releases/2017/15-09-2017 https://www.dixonstravel.com/
