amscene1 Posted May 26, 2018 #1 Share Posted May 26, 2018 (edited) It looks like it’s docking tonight, it’s hauling butt too, almost 25 knots. I’m thinking medical emergency. Homosassa Posted May 26, 2018 #2 Share Posted May 26, 2018 I'm thinking trying to stay ahead of the rough seas from the winds and rain of Alberto.
amscene1 Posted May 26, 2018 Author #3 Share Posted May 26, 2018 I'm thinking trying to stay ahead of the rough seas from the winds and rain of Alberto. Possible, but will they dock or anchor? I don’t think they would go faster then 20 knots after key west. They were in the clear hours ago. Sent from my iPhone using Forums
dukefan94 Posted May 26, 2018 #4 Share Posted May 26, 2018 Maybe it is trying to get to port ahead of subtropical Storm Alberto? Have there been any updates while you were on board?
Mocruisesplz Posted May 27, 2018 #5 Share Posted May 27, 2018 Dock probably, bulk of the storms to the east side. Sent from my iPhone using Forums
Rare BirdTravels Posted May 27, 2018 #6 Share Posted May 27, 2018 There is a big storm front coming in just south of Florida right now. The GA was doing nearly 25 knots around the keys, but did not enter the port yet,,, just slowed down off south beach. She'll be in some nasty weather if she does not get into port soon. I think the whole way back was rainy, as far as wave heights, they have remained low around Florida all week (3-4 feet) maybe some heavy rain but who cares, it’s been operating in this condition all week. I’m betting medical emergency. Sent from my iPhone using Forums

ColinIllinois Posted May 27, 2018 #9 Share Posted May 27, 2018 Amscene, I just looked through your posts wondering why you were following so closely. Not surprisingly you are getting ready to cruise. Don't worry, you'll be fine. This storm will be gone and you'll have a great cruise. Take a deep breath and don't stress so much. Have a great cruise! momsince96 Posted May 27, 2018 #13 Share Posted May 27, 2018 I was watching the Getaway just for fun (sailing next week) and she is, indeed, alongside. But the other passenger ships (Sensation, MSC, Glory) are all out to sea. I am wondering why she is in early? At 11pm EDT that means no more gambling, shops, and taxes on booze, etc. There has to be a reason, right?
Shidah Posted May 27, 2018 #14 Share Posted May 27, 2018 Onboard the Getaway, came in early, last night approx 9 ish, to get in the channel ahead of the storm so there would not be possible delays in the morning. Captain made an announcement regarding the change at about 5:45 pm.
momsince96 Posted May 27, 2018 #15 Share Posted May 27, 2018 Glad to hear there were no emergencies on board! I hope you had a good night despite being docked early. Safe travels home!
Shidah Posted May 27, 2018 #16 Share Posted May 27, 2018 Yeah, it was an early night for me with the casino being closed! One staff member looked at it like they saved me money, I looked at it like they kept me from winning the jackpot I was after all week! LOL! The cruise was fantastic and we had a great time, as always. We haven't been disappointed yet on any of our NCL cruises.

I guess it was the right decision since the Carnival Vista was late docking this morning, maybe around 10 - 11.
