I just booked it for the week after your cruise and the price was $179. Maybe you should check with NCL??

I think I will call tomorrow just to get an explanation as to why our week is so much higher. I just looked online under my reservation and it’s still showing $249 which is what I paid months ago.

Wondering if I could ask one more favor of you? We have a 10-year-old and I'm not sure that I want to buy him the specialty dining plan as he is a VERY picky eater - everything must be plain! I read in the dailies that there is a special kids menu that is free in the specialty restaurants - I'm wondering if you wouldn't mind snapping and posting a photo of it? As always this is much appreciated!!! love your thread!

Blissful Cruiser, you asked the same question already. Post #214. Can you show a little patience and let them enjoy the cruise? So much amazing information is already being provided, not to mention your many other questions that were answered so quickly.

But I would like to know how crowded was the Observation lounge on this cruise? Was it not bad or unbearable? Chair hogs?

The forward facing seats are always full. But The lounge is the entire front of the ship from the forward elevator lobby to the bow. Lots of seats. People come and go. We are fortunate since we have a Deck 15 Room a few doors down from the lounge. We run in for a snack or easy access to the bar which is never busy.

Tonight’s dinner was our Platinum dinner at La Cucina. Watching miles and miles of Alaskan snow capped peaks pass by our window seat was simply magical. (We were not as brave as a few others eating on the Waterfront in the unheated tables).

Mixed Greens with Pear

Calamari

Salmon

Osso Bucco

Cheesecake

Chocolate Tart

we also have a deck 15 midship balcony down the hall from the observation lounge. I am concerned about the noise of the deck chairs/tables above, can you hear them in your cabin? We leave saturday, your review has been very helpful.

First cruise. A few terminal hiccups.

We are Platinum Plus, so I know what you’re asking. I did not see where the priority boarding seating was. I looked. I didn’t see the banner-up. There was a single priority entrance to the checkin line. And we were in line when we heard them call Group 1 at 10:45. I did not hear them call priority boarding, but that is sometimes done with an escort from the waiting area.

After checkin, we waited in the boarding line and the agent asked for our Group card. I showed her my key and said that we were Platinum members and could board at any time. She looked at us like we had two heads and got upset. She said she never heard of platinum status. We just kept walking.

Checkin ran out of boarding group cards, so the late comers were all swarming the boarding line before the early arrivers. There are 4700 passengers on this cruise (vs 4000 capacity).

They ran out of cards on opening day of the cruise season in Seattle. That was on April 19th for Sun’s repo to Canaveral and there were only 1768 passengers.

Boarding took hours. And hours.

I’m kind of gobsmacked that the Port of Seattle and NCL haven’t resolved this yet.

So,,,, we normally have a high room, often under public areas. Whether it is our Deck 15 mini or a Haven room.

Yes, from time to time we hear chairs. And kids running. But it is nothing that would make us complain or want a different room.

I guess that it is, in part, because we travel often and stay dozens and dozens of nights in hotel yearly. The ship is A LOT quieter that hotels.

The one “good” thing is that they moved “all things kids” to Deck 5. Guppies, Splash Academy, Entourage, and the Video Arcade now live down near the water line vs sprinkled in stateroom space.

Are you sure it's the exact same excursion? Sometimes they will have 2 or 3 variations of the same excursion. Some might be longer or include something more.

Yes, same excursion. I called and they rebooked the excursion for our family of four. Refunded me $248!
