Lido Cabanas

Several years ago I witnessed the Lido cabanas being removed to make room for the dessert extravaganza. This made me wonder..are they removed when going through the Panama canal to create additional outdoor viewing space for more than the cabana occupants?

I don't know, but I doubt it very much. I know if I had one for the whole cruise I would be be irate to be kicked out while in the Canal. Wasn't the dessert extravaganza at night?

Does HAL offer such an event anymore? If not, that would necessarily answer the question re the cabanas. I know the parades of chocolate in the evening are on trend now.

I seriously doubt the Lido cabanas would be removed for the Canal. Doesn't make much sense. Have been through the Canal 4 times, most recently on Eurodam...we had a retreat cabana. The Lido cabanas were not removed.

We went through the canal in October on the Nieuw Amsterdam. The Lido cabanas were not removed. We had great views from our Retreat cabana!
