GinnyF Posted January 4, 2006 #1 Share Posted January 4, 2006 I'm going to be on the Maasdam for the 35 day Boston to Boston cruise and wonder if any Cruise Critic posters are going to be sailing that cruise. I'm not sure where I should be posting this, so please re-direct my post if it's misplaced. Thanks.
Krazy Kruizers Posted January 4, 2006 #2 Share Posted January 4, 2006 You should post under "Roll Calls".
GinnyF Posted January 4, 2006 Author #3 Share Posted January 4, 2006 Where do I find the Roll Call thread. I'm not used to this format-sorry.
grannynurse Posted January 4, 2006 #4 Share Posted January 4, 2006 Ginny, Click on "boards" from the main CC screen and scroll down to roll calls and click on HAL. Once on the HAL roll call board find your cruise by date, or if one doesn't exist start a new thread with your ship and date in the title. We did a similar trip on the Rotterdam from Boston in 2003 and one from NY in 2004. It's a marvelous itinerary. Lots of at-sea days and 8 formal nights. We were on Maasdam last summer and loved her. She's smaller than Rotterdam by approximately 80 ft and lacks the midship stairs and elevators, but otherwise truly "HAL" in nature with a super friendly crew, great service and beautiful decor. The new beds are heavenly and the food is great. You'll have great weather in July. We had rain in Scotland and Ireland but didn't care a bit. That's what makes them so green. It looks like the Euro is back down, hope it stays down for your trip. British pounds, Icelandic, Norwegian and Faroe Island kroner, and Euros were all high when we were there. Hope you meet lots of cc'ers on this board so you'll have many new friends to look forward to on board Maasdam GN
RuthC Posted January 4, 2006 #5 Share Posted January 4, 2006 Ginny, I know for a fact that there was a roll-call for your cruise started. It began last summer while I was posting there for the '05 edition of the cruise. I had a reply or two on the '06 roll-call. The '06 itinerary is an exact duplicate of the '05 one that I sailed. I did an on-board thread at the time. I'll be happy to answer any questions you might have about this cruise.
GinnyF Posted January 4, 2006 Author #6 Share Posted January 4, 2006 Thanks so much for the comments; I did manage to find the correct place to post and now will look for your Happy Wanderer thread(s). Ginny Oh, I"m going to fly to Boston a day early from MSP and wondered how I might find out about reasonable hotels not too far from the pier. Is there a "correct" place to ask for this info? Old As Dirt Mom Posted January 4, 2006 #7 Share Posted January 4, 2006 Hi Ginny F: If you scroll down to the Cruise Discussion Topics board, and go to Hotels Pre and Post-cruise, you will probably find some help there. They've got answers for everything here!

GinnyF Posted May 12, 2006 Author #10 Share Posted May 12, 2006 We will be on this sailing with you. Can we trade information? Hi, I'd like that. How do we manage that "responsibly" on a public board like this? Or am I being too cautious? I've suggested on the roll call board that perhaps anyone posting on Cruise Critic could meet in the Explorer's Lounge at 1PM on the first full day at sea. Does that sound like an idea?
