Vlgg731 Posted June 9, 2018 #1 Share Posted June 9, 2018 We are booked for December 22, 2019 on Allure of the Seas and I have seen a lot of discussion about cancelled cruises on here. Has anyone had a Holiday cruise cancelled? I am paying for flights from Indiana and California at Christmas and they are very expensive. I am now worried that the cruise will get cancelled. Does anyone have any experience with cancellations at that time of the year?
Ourusualbeach Posted June 9, 2018 #2 Share Posted June 9, 2018 Extremely unlikely as the fees to charter the ship would be extremely high. We’ve been cruising over the holidays since 2011 without issue and I’ve never seen a Christmas or New Years cruise reported as chartered here on CC. BTW we are on Allure this Christmasand Oasis in 2019.
TEXASMUNK Posted June 9, 2018 #3 Share Posted June 9, 2018 Not going to happen. Charters are set to attract specific groups, or organizations. You will have no worries about a holiday cruise being turned into a charter.

goodboy Posted June 10, 2018 #5 Share Posted June 10, 2018 We were scheduled to sail from Southampton on INDY 12/17/11 for 18 nights over both Christmas and New Years. RCCL changed the sailing from 18 nights to 12 nights. Ship was originally scheduled to sail two 18 night itineraries and they changed to three 12 night sailings. Also changed itinerary which was a good thing due to weather. Unlikely holiday cruise will change but it can happen.
TEXASMUNK Posted June 10, 2018 #6 Share Posted June 10, 2018 Good boy...very good chance the change was based on bookings...2 18 nighters is a lot to fill, but 3 12 nights would be more attractive to more potential customers...just a guess.
