pisamoorings Posted June 14, 2018 #51 Share Posted June 14, 2018 So wish people "down under" were able to get these deals as well [emoji34] So disheartening reading all the posts about the deals people in the US can get. Thrak Posted June 14, 2018 #52 Share Posted June 14, 2018 All that says is that the figures provided as examples in the advertising are PP/DO and do not apply to single, triple or quad occupancy. Nowhere does it imply that parties sized other than two are ineligible for the promotion. The proof will be in the pudding as they say. Even if that's not what is meant there will likely be some Princess reps who interpret it that way. They never seem to all be on the same page. (I want the Sip and Sail but on the other hand it's not good for me...:o)
darstamp Posted June 14, 2018 #53 Share Posted June 14, 2018 I don't know how this works as I haven't sailed with Princess before. We booked our cruise months ago. Today I checked the price for that cruise and it has gone up around $6 or $7 hundred dollars from what we paid for the same type of room. Today these are showing as "Sale" prices. Is that what Princess calls a sale? It is mentioned here that existing bookings might be able to share in this "deal". We would have to rebook from an Oceanview to a balcony. Would we get the price that the balcony was when we originally booked or would we have to pay the higher price which would really be no sale at all? travelqueen555 Posted June 14, 2018 #55 Share Posted June 14, 2018 Hi all, first time on Princess. When sailing with other "companies" - it was stipulated you could not use onboard credits for gratuities. I think I an understanding that on Princess you are allowed to designate your onboard credits toward the gratuities that are placed on your cabin charges. Not referring to the 3 for free where your gratuities are free, referring to actual onboard credits to be used for excursions, drinks, etc. Is this correct? Rare ceilidh1 Posted June 15, 2018 #56 Share Posted June 15, 2018 People have emailed me - this is going to be available to all in the US/Canada. Not just one agency. The sale that is exclusive to the one agency is only a 3 day sale - from June 21-23. It includes beverage package, gratuities, and specialty dining. Yes - if you receive OBC, it goes against your charges for the cruise. You can use it for gratuities, shore excursions, speciality dining, spa treatments, stores, etc... Some OBC is not allowed to be used at the casino.
Rare villauk Posted June 15, 2018 #59 Share Posted June 15, 2018 Princess are pricing their cruises so high these days, I'm sure they're factoring in things like Landmark and Sip and Sail into their initial release price which is why prices don't necessarily have to go up to get the new promotion. I just compared some of Princess's transpacifics to Royal Caribbean to see if it was worth switching to get a drink package. I almost choked at the difference and that's before sip and sail. Have you looked at X’s prices for next year? I can go on a 13 night cruise with Princess in the summer to NE for less than 7 nights in the Med on X :o! voljeep Posted June 15, 2018 #60 Share Posted June 15, 2018 what difference is there in booking during the 3 day sale prior to the Princess sale and just waiting to book directly with Princess when their sale starts? is it grats and OBC?

I just said it wasn't a fair comparison with Sky Princess to Edge. I am booked on X for next year in the Med. and have what I think is an excellent deal. I understand you're looking for the height of summer.
Jimbo Posted June 15, 2018 #62 Share Posted June 15, 2018 Just got the Landmark $500 OBC added to our August 2019 Alaska reservation, anyone know if the Sip N Sail promo can then be added on June 26th when that promo becomes available or is it just limited to one or the other promo on a reservation? Jimbo:)

Rare terry&mike Posted June 16, 2018 #64 Share Posted June 16, 2018 what difference is there in booking during the 3 day sale prior to the Princess sale and just waiting to book directly with Princess when their sale starts? is it grats and OBC? Program is the same in regards to the beverage package. The difference is the addition of free prepaid gratuities for guests 1 & 2 (any cabin category), free Specialty Dinner (mini suites and above). There will only be OBC if the sailing you are looking at has some group space held by the company having the 3 Day Sale.

Astro Flyer Posted June 19, 2018 #73 Share Posted June 19, 2018 Not on their website. Only seeing Landmark sale for the summer 2019. You won’t see it on the Princess website until the start date of 6/26 and it will be valid for Summer 2019 to Spring 2020 cruises. Often there are cruise fares posted here that come from Princess emails to TAs who give their clients advance notice.
Lily lady Posted June 20, 2018 #74 Share Posted June 20, 2018 It is most unfair the sipn sail not offered to uk customers. That is two customers who do at least two cruises a year that princess have lost to this .

That is two customers who do at least two cruises a year that princess have lost to this . I would imagine they would if they could. Maybe there are laws that prevent them from doing so. Or maybe the fares that the rest of us pay are higher because of the perks. I'm always of the thinking that no one really gives anything away for free really. We pay for it somehow. For those who gamble in casinos...look around, it is evident that casinos are not in the business of giving money away. Sure, there are a few that get some, but they keep far more than that. I hope that is some consolation.
