Rare perfect match Posted July 3, 2018 #335 Share Posted July 3, 2018 Welcome “home” [emoji846] Thanks! I'm enjoying the journey! I especially enjoy your sunrise pictures. I'm not a morning person, so the only way I would ever get sunrise pictures is if I'm still awake from the previous day. I also love the lighthouse pictures! :D
suesnake2002 Posted July 3, 2018 #336 Share Posted July 3, 2018 Love bar harbor. For any one interested, best lobsters are in august. That is when the lobsters molt (shed their old shell) . So when you go to eat one the shells are softer, therefore easier to eat! Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N920A using Tapatalk

Rare APDMOM Posted July 3, 2018 Author #338 Share Posted July 3, 2018 Bar Harbor, A Very Friendly Town: Patrick’s by the Sea (with the pink whale) is an awesome little gift shop with the friendliest service. I highly recommend them!
Rare APDMOM Posted July 3, 2018 Author #339 Share Posted July 3, 2018 Tendering to Bar Harbor was very easy. We were on the first tender and did not stand in line at all. I guess many people thought to take a later tender to avoid crowds or to sleep in. The tender was pretty empty on our ride over. The tender is very large: Views of the ship from the tender:

Rare APDMOM Posted July 3, 2018 Author #341 Share Posted July 3, 2018 We did a private tour of Acadia National Park. It cost a total of $172 for 5 people. This is much cheaper than the ship excursion, and the tour was excellent. Santo, our tour guide, was witty and very knowledgeable: Views along the way: Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

Rare cruiselvr04 Posted July 3, 2018 #343 Share Posted July 3, 2018 Would there be time/opportunity to visit Ellis Isand on turn around day? Although turn around day can be like a sea day I just thought it’d be fun to do something that day. You would have been able to leave the ship at 10:30 but would have to back by ? I know it’s later then all the new cruisers.
Rare APDMOM Posted July 3, 2018 Author #344 Share Posted July 3, 2018 Cadillac Mountain - It was too foggy to see the ship, but the mountain is beautiful. Unfortunately, it is very busy. I would love to return here for a longer visit and early morning hike up the mountain:
Countrygurl Posted July 3, 2018 #345 Share Posted July 3, 2018 My husband and I are going on Adventure of the Seas for the first time at the end of August to Canada and Maine. You are getting me excited. Enjoying your trip is a way to make mine start early! Thanks for taking time from your cruise to help me enjoy mine! We will be on this cruise as well. It is our first time on RC. So excited! And love reading these reviews!

AshleyDillo Posted July 3, 2018 #347 Share Posted July 3, 2018 I did the Canada/NE itinerary on Anthem and Bar Harbor was my favorite port. For anyone who wants to do Cadillac Mountain, make that be the very first thing that you do when you get off of the ship. It gets crazy busy later on in the day and there's often a line of waiting to get into the parking lot.

I will see if I can find our turn around day letter, as it gives details on how to choose that option. The only thing with Ellis island is how long it takes to get a ferry. I did this in 1998, so I don’t remember how long the ferry took...It may may take too long to get back to the ship. Maybe some recent tourists of Ellis Island could let you know. I will post our letter later.
