DTT Posted June 26, 2018 #1 Share Posted June 26, 2018 Thank you so much to all of you who replied to my question regarding the concierge class versus regular balcony. I have decided to take your device and have booked a B3 with the extended balcony.. The person from Oceana assured me I would not hear the noise from the dining room. Could you out there in Cruise critic Ville tell me if this is the case? Are those B3's on deck seven noisy and will they affect my enjoyment of the cruise? Thanks again for all your help and expertise! By the way, the ship I am sailing on is the Riviera and it is a transatlantic cruise.
Jay23 Posted June 26, 2018 #2 Share Posted June 26, 2018 Will you be choosing the aft stateroom or forward? We were in an extended balcony aft of Riviera and there was no noise. The balcony was very nice and you should request sun loungers. J

StanandJim Posted June 26, 2018 #4 Share Posted June 26, 2018 Are those B3's on deck seven noisy and will they affect my enjoyment of the cruise? In this photograph, the large windows on deck 6 (just behind the lifeboats) are those of the Grand dining Room. The deck 7 extended veranda cabins are, in effect, on the roof of the Grand Dining Room. Given the decorous ambiance of that space, there is not much chance of noise from below. gbits Posted June 27, 2018 #5 Share Posted June 27, 2018 We had no noise from the dining room but experienced noise from what I think was them dropping the anchor in the mornings when we pulled into port. Sent from my iPhone using Forums

gbits Posted June 27, 2018 #7 Share Posted June 27, 2018 Was it a tender port ?? the noise was probably the thrusters the whole ship shakes You are probably correct about the thrusters. We didn’t notice any noise when we stayed in an A1 but definitely did in the B3. That’s the only two cabin types we have stayed in so I don’t know if it affects other cabins or not but my husband said he would prefer not to stay in a B3 again. I liked the extended balcony so I probably would. Sent from my iPhone using Forums

Rare LHT28 Posted June 30, 2018 #11 Share Posted June 30, 2018 usually the noise issue is when your are UNDER the dining areas & pool deck that said on the R ships being OVER the show lounge can be an issue for some they have rehearsals during the day then the show at night until about 10:30pm
