cfr70 Posted June 28, 2018 #1 Share Posted June 28, 2018 I got an e mail today from Carnival about their casinos and I came across the scratch offs that look just like regular state lottery scratch offs. Are these specifically made by Carnival and cash prizes won directly from Carnival? It says prizes up to $100,000. Has anyone had any luck with them? I never seen them before but may get a bunch on my next sailing now. https://www.carnival.com/onboard/scratch-offs
Davey Wavey Posted June 28, 2018 #2 Share Posted June 28, 2018 Carnival does sell them and pay them. I have never played them because they have no published odds like State lotteries are required to have...AND I don't like how SOME cashiers try very hard to sell them to the point of being pushy. I have seen them announce winners for multi-thousand dollars about 6 times. Looked legit.

That's strange...I never buy the state ones, but will give these a try just for the hell of it. Looks fun.
firemanbobswife Posted June 28, 2018 #4 Share Posted June 28, 2018 Yes they are through Carnival and redeemable at the casino cage. Never won anything big, but I think my sister got $50 or $100 once. They also have a bin where you put your non winners in and they have a drawing I think towards the end of the cruise for some money.

I never expect to win the big jackpots, so $50 or $100 sounds great. I'll have to put some extra cash in my casino budget for these now.

I would think that since these are solely through Carnival that the odds of hitting a big prize like that would be much better than the state lottery ones. I hope I have the same luck you did with them.

richfret Posted June 30, 2018 #16 Share Posted June 30, 2018 On our last 8 day cruise, I brought 16 five dollar Florida scratch offs and another 8 three dollar scratch offs for a total cost of $104. That way I could do one card at each meal. The normal pay off is approximately one winner for every 4 cards. At the end of the cruise I had won just over half the money I spent. So I did better than the published odds. Now you might think that would still make me a loser but actually I felt like a winner because I normally don't have any winnings to bring home from cruise gambling. In addition, it was a lot of extra fun on the ship. So I plan to do the same thing on our next cruise only this time I am going to win the $50,000 that is boldly printed on the face of the scratch off. You can be sure you will see my post for that one. In addition, I am keeping my winnings from the prior cruise to pay for the next cruise scratch off tickets because that has to be lucky money. I know what you are thinking but you have to be optimistic if you are a gambler. Now if I bought tickets for the evening snack ....................................... OK. I see your point!
