Ladies: Magnifying Travel Mirror Suggestions

Recommended Posts

I'll cross-post this on the Fashion and Beauty board.

Ladies (and gents, too), I've discovered some ships don't have a magnifying mirror in the stateroom and this becomes a problem for me when it's time to put on make-up. I've bought a couple of travel magnifying mirrors and none of them are worth beans. Do you have any suggestions?

Thanks in advance!

Out of the box suggestion:

Prop up and zoom in the selfie camera on your smartphone?

I have a small (3”) 15x lighted mirror I carry in my purse. I got mine at TJ Max and later got one for $25-30 at Bed Bath and Beyond for my sister. I also bring a 15x 5-6” suction cup one that is not lighted that I attache to the bathroom mirror. Just remember to take it with you when you go home. I keep leaving mine behind.

But, I have to wear my reading glasses to see the screen. With the magnifying mirror that I have at home I don't need my glasses.

The zoom feature doesn't help?

I wish I had read these threads about mirrors earlier. I just purchased this mirror from Amazon and it's exactly what I am looking for in terms of both magnification and lighting. I guess I'll bring some extra batteries to be safe though.

I'm wondering how bright the lights are. Since most hotel/cruise cabins are notorious for outside-of-the-bathroom vanity areas having poor lighting, I'm looking for something I can use in these areas. I have a handheld lighted mirror that barely lights my face and don't want to make the same mistake twice.

Thank you.
