The Carnival Triumph is being renamed the Carnival Sunrise. Expect an official tomorrow with the full release and the changes they are making in dry dock. In my cruise manager:

If you booked as the Triumph and now have a booking on the Sunrise, double-check your dining and bed preferences. I had to change mine to our typical preference of Early Dining and King from Early/ Twin. (It's possible that I hadn't selected what I wanted when I booked as the Triumph, but I'm usually pretty fastidious about that.)

My guess is that they're going to attempt to "Sunshine" her when she goes to dry dock in 2019. I sailed her when she was the Triumph, I've sailed the Sunshine...come on Sunrise, we have a date in October 2019. Can't wait to see the old girl again.

I read the story about the rehab, and it seems all cosmetic and revenue enhancing. The ship needs the first, heck it needed upgrading last time I sailed it 13 years ago in 2006.

What about it's functionality? Any mention of diesel upgrades or replacement? Wiring or electrical systems getting revamped? Plumbing? Theater re-design to squeeze in more cabins?

Liquid Lounge is a huge disappointment. Is it me or are there lots of fee based restaurants being added?

No more than any other Carnival ship and still way under six flags from seas versions....
