Edge Full Deck Plan in Brouchure - some disappoinments

Recommended Posts

My travel agent sent me the new Celebrity 2019-2020 World Wide Destination brochure which features a full deck plan of the Edge, which seems to confirm some of my concerns.

Deck by Deck inclusions not on the online version.

Deck 2- Printed version inlcude a venue called "The Basement" This is a small room off the Destination Gateway that if I had to guess might be a teen lounge. Base on the fact that no other information has been released that I can find on the youth programs on the ship, I am guessing this is teen lounge.

Deck 3. - Forward to Aft included in printed version - Oculus Theater, Camp at Sea, Martini Bar and Grand Plaza Cafe, Guest Relations, Shore Excursions and Normandie and Tuscan Restaurant.

Deck 4 - Forward to Aft included in printed version - Oculus Theater, Celebrity Shops, Photo Gallery, Future Cruise Vacations, The Club, I Lounge, Cafe Al Bacio, Le Grand Bistro, Casino Bar Celebrity Shops, Cosmopolitan and Cyprus Restuarant, Eden Restaurant,

Deck 5 - Oculus Theater, Art Gallery, , The Club Second story appears to be open to below, ,Fine Cut Steakhouse, Raw, Boutique Shop, Blue (It appears blue will not have any "ocean view seating, as it is in the middle of the ship and the windows if any, appear to be opening on to the promenade with "Edge Launches" out side) Eden Entrance.

6-12 are as t;hey appear on line,

Deck 14 - Spa is on the Front and Ocean View Cafe on the back.

Deck 15 - Fitness center on front of ship is new to drawing,

Deck 16 - matches online version.

So what am I disappointed about? No forward facing observation lounge - my favorite place to hang out on a Celebrity Ship and no dedicated wine bar - my other favorite place to hang out on a Celebrity ship.

Anybody else seen the full set up plans. I looked to see if there was a full set posted online, and didn't find one, but somebody else might be better at finding stuff than I am.

I am also disappointed in losing the sky lounge on Edge, I fully expect that all those lounges will be gone when the M and S class ships get their redo.

Just curious if anyone out there has connections to find out exactly what the basement is...

World Wide Brochure is through 2020, so I am guessing that they went ahead and included the full deck plan.

I hope the forward observations lounges are not taken on the other ships. We really don't care to much for the design of the Princess ships that don't have them. I hope they don't take them away from existing ships.

I looked at the brochure on Celebrity's web site. I'll withhold judgment until there are some live from posts but right now I'm not too impressed. As another poster said Cellar Masters is missing which is one of our favorite venues. Maybe they are not showing it yet but did not see a library, I lounge, card room, etc.

Not a card player myself, but I just can't imagine a ship with no card room. That is such a popular area. Often every table is occupied. I'd be very disappointed to see the library disappear too. That is another area that often has folks seated in comfy chairs enjoying books or their own electronic books or just chilling out. Neither area is a source of revenue, however. If they really are gone, that could be why.

Shouldn't say this because we are booked on a back-to-back next year on Edge, but the more I learn about the new ship, the less I am excited to go. What's worse, when my favorite Solstice Class ships are "revolutionized", I'm afraid I will be very disappointed in them too. :o

It appears the only forward facing views are for suite guests in the retreat? That is pretty lame IMO.

You might just need to try a suite for a special occasion sometime, but wait for prices to come down and comments from Edge cruisers...sure you can...opportunity choice??? New cruise line? Lots of choices out there...but I do understand...

The new brochure was out a couple of weeks ago - here's an Edge Forum thread with lots of discussion about these issues and more! :D

The reveal for entertainment should be soon and should better explain some of the venues.

Here is another one page deck plan:

No dance floor?

There is The Club, which is a 2 deck venue that will have music and dancing and there is a 3 story atrium that may have a dance area, as on other X ships. These entertainment announcements are coming soon, we hope! :D

Great forward views from all treadmills in the gym [emoji6]

LOL. There is also a spa veranda in the front of the ship, if you don't want to be on a treadmill when enjoying the forward view. :D

AQ and spa guests also have access to the Relaxation Room, which has lovely views. Some of the thermal suites have some nice forward views, if one is in AQ or buys a pass.

There are options, though I think the Sky Lounge will be missed by many...

Without a dedicated card room, many folks take up tables in the AQ cafe, inside and outside the buffet, Cafe Baccio, pool deck tables , solarium etc... and they stay for a long time nursing a coffee ...while enjoying their gane but others cannot use these tables for meals or tea or a quicker visit,

Better to have a space where they can enjoy their games..,,they have nice areas on S class ships

Originally, the relaxation room was for AQ only but the last couple of years it hasn’t been enforced. Wonder what they’ll do on the Edge.

Actually the web site used to say relaxation room was for Exclusive use by AQ cabins. It no longer does.

They are a little vague in the materials but imply it is an AQ perk ...hope they continue to retain that as an AQ perk...and for those who have booked appts at the spa. Some ships do enforce, some less so..

It is just too small for use by everyone...,room is slightly larger on Reflection...no idea about what the size or rules will be on EDGE,

Sometimes it is relaxing..,but other times people talk quite a bit and ruin the spa ambiance,,

I wish we could. We are taking our first Celebrity cruise for our 25th next spring. We got a great cabin on Eclipse, one of the slants on the rear hump. So I am not complaining. It just seems a lot of the new ships from all of the lines are going to a dedicated forward section of their ships for suite customers. There are TONS of old ships left out there though :)

Edge definitely will not have a library.
