twodudes Posted January 7, 2006 #1 Share Posted January 7, 2006 Hi All Just thought we would share with you how we are killing time in Ft Lauderdale, as we arrive before 7am on day of cruise on a redeye flight from the West Coast! We have chosen to hire a car from Hertz for 7 hours, which all up is no more than $50. Now this is very handy as we can lock our luggage in the trunk (which is then covered by travel insurance) and do some sightseeing as follows: * We will go to breakfast at Dennys from 730am-830am * We will then drive to Old Navy to buy some last minute cruise wear (opens 9am) * We will then drive over to Sawgrass Mills to check out the outlets (opens 10am) * We will then return the car to Hertz East Sunrise and take the shuttle to the pier This entire journey is only 20 miles roundtrip and is going to save us from sitting around with hundreds of other people at Port Everglades worrying about getting on board. I have mapped this if anyone wants further information! Cheers, Ash
Bequia Posted January 7, 2006 #2 Share Posted January 7, 2006 Ash, that's a great itinerary. You'll love the Sawgrass Mills some really great bargains. Be sure to check out Nordstrom Rack http://about.nordstrom.com/ourstores/rackstores/?origin=footer. If you have time for lunch check out Bahama Breeze http://www.bahamabreeze.com/on the SGM access road. ;)

Do you know if there is either a 60 minute tailor at Sawgrass Mills, or a tailor on board Princess ships if we need just some hem alterations? Bequia Posted January 8, 2006 #4 Share Posted January 8, 2006 I know most ships offer tailoring along with their dry cleaning services. I'm sure the tailors at Nordstrom Rack would also help you out even if you purchased it elsewhere. ;)
