Don't forget the live bands for the shows, the chocolate mints on your pillow, or straws when you order a drink.
MBP1 Posted August 8, 2018 #5 Share Posted August 8, 2018 Its not just Horizon, Carnival doesn't want to pay for the channels. Its hilarious that they have a sports bar, but only 3 sports channels, couldn't even watch the World Cup.

jerseyjjs Posted August 8, 2018 #8 Share Posted August 8, 2018 Its not just Horizon, Carnival doesn't want to pay for the channels. Its hilarious that they have a sports bar, but only 3 sports channels, couldn't even watch the World Cup. I was on the Pride during the World Cup semi-finals and they showed the recorded games the next day on Fox Sports-1 (FS1) on the TVs at the casino bar. I'm pretty sure Carnival would have to pay extra for that. But I agree that it's a joke that Carnival claims to have a "sports bar" and doesn't provide the sports. I understand not having prime channels in the cabins, but isn't there a way they can just show the games in the appropriate entertainment areas? TEXSUN46 Posted August 8, 2018 #9 Share Posted August 8, 2018 I don't watch network TV at home other than college football, I wouldn't have noticed it was missing from the ship.
Cafedumonde Posted August 8, 2018 #10 Share Posted August 8, 2018 We do not watch any of that stuff at home either. But not a fan of CNN. They still have that, right? It is not even a real news channel. When I see it, it reminds me of The Onion. Hard to tell the difference.

You would've liked the Pride in October '17' then. There were 7 early (11am central time) games on in the sports bar at the same time. and plenty other were shown throughout the day. The place was packed.

Luckiestmanonearth Posted August 8, 2018 #14 Share Posted August 8, 2018 There are 2 things wrong with this 1) people are on vacation so why do they care about missing TV channels 2) it’s summertime and literally nothing on those channels anyway Sent from my iPhone using Forums

They had those and SEC Network in the RFP on Breeze in March...and somehow they were picking up NCAA basketball games with a CBS watermark on them at the casino bar. The only time I ever care is in Football season, and they do a fair job at least getting the good matchups/big games televised in some fashion

I myself prefer the channel with the map and ship data. 2) There is hardly ever anything on those channels all times of the year.
Superscruss01 Posted August 8, 2018 #18 Share Posted August 8, 2018 Not taking a cruise to watch the boob tube. Besides, my Pats wont be playing during my cruise anyways!
Cruiser_1977 Posted August 8, 2018 #19 Share Posted August 8, 2018 I never thought about this. I think we turned the tv on one evening after dinner when we were both exhausted. Didn't care what the "channel" was just looked for something to have on as we fell asleep. I did watch my CAPS in the "Sports Bar" on NCL this past June. This thread had me thinking... I wouldn't care if there wasn't a television in the room. As others have mentioned, I'd like to be able to watch sports in the "Sports Bar" AND if there was an important (define as you wish) world news event I'd like that covered in the public spaces via television. Badfinger Posted August 8, 2018 #20 Share Posted August 8, 2018 We loved the Horizon... but no network TV (CBS , NBC and ABC)? Really Carnival? Who goes on a cruise to watch TV? When I have some down time in my cabin, I prefer to read....because that is something I don't get much chance to do at home. And a couple books take up very little luggage space. That's what YOU like to do on your cruises. I'm a big football fan and like to wager on the games. Having them played onboard while the sun gleams off the deep azure blue sea through a window or my balcony is enjoyable to me......and apparently a few others. FWIW, if it's not football season, watching tv is something I don't do much of on a cruise either.

Who spends their time posting on a TV channel thread when they don’t like watching TV? You can read a book anytime. That game is only going to be played once.
