Really depends on what you like. Waterslide? Piano Bar? Comedy club? Secret deck?

First, remember that you're on vacation. Aside from eating when you're hungry, and sleeping when you're tired, there really isn't anything you just can't miss or have to do. Look at the Fun Times to see what is scheduled for your "at sea" day. Pick and choose what interests you the most, but don't try to do everything. You'll wear yourselves out rushing from one thing to the next. And if you miss something that you wanted to do, that's as good of an excuse as any to book another cruise. ;)

Muster drill. Miss that and your cruise will be very short.

On a more serious note..... sail away, get in a position to watch the lines being cast off and the ship moving away from the dock using its own power, no tugs.

Kitchen tour.

Sunset at sea.

Going under a bridge if you lucky enough to have that happen. Viewed from top deck.

Getting your picture taken with the Captain.

Find the lucky coin.

Explore the ship on a sea day.

If you can, get outside on the bow deck as close to bow as possible and look down.

Relax on balcony and watch the sea go by. Try to spot dolphins, flying fish, other ships etc.

Take as many pictures as possible. You'll be glad you did.

Make some new friends.

Eat something you never tried before.

Have Warm Chocolate Melting Cake for dessert.

Book another cruise.

Guy's Burgers, Alchemy Bar, enjoying a movie out on the lido deck at night, the water slide, and of course the big lido deck party.

Thank you for all of the good ideas. What's "secret deck"? Hubby isn't interested in the ship tour so we aren't going to do that but I definitely plan to get familiar with the walking/jogging track and other ways to get exercise while on the ship!

What's "secret deck"?

It's not as special as it sounds, but it's kinda neat if you're looking for somewhere to get away from the noise & crowds. Someone else can chime in on the exact floor(s) for your ship, but there are some decks that have a door at the end of the cabin hallways that goes out onto a small deck on the front of the ship. There are usually a couple of benches & that's about it. It's very windy, as there's nothing to block the ocean wind in front of you.

The ship will likely have an "Afternoon Tea" in the aft dining room in the early afternoon. The sweets and snacks are awesome, and it is free, unless you want fancier tea (covered under Cheers fwiw).

We just did this cruise, and might I suggest you use the day to relax? The rest of the cruise is a whirlwind with non-stop ports of call; it was the least relaxing cruise we have taken.

The Fascination is a small ship, relatively, and so I would sleep in, have sea day brunch and just wander. You will have the fun times to see when everything is listed, but don't feel compelled to do any of it. The suggestion above are great - but you will burn yourself out if you try to do everything.

This thread is a great example that you have to decide for yourself as everyone has different tastes.

Me...I pretty much hate all things on the Lido deck. Hot, loud and mostly stupid.

And Tea Time? 90* and I am drinking hot tea? Um..no thanks (and yes we did do this one time).

Booking a cruise on a cruise? A waste of valuable vacation time...plus waiting until you get home would give you something fun to do back home on a rainy weekend.

I do agree about sleeping. Sleep an extra hour or take a nap. it will make your entire cruise all the more enjoyable. Notice all the people who start to get the zombie eyes that last day or two. That cannot be fun.

I am obsessed with finding the ship's coin. It's number one on my to-do list for every cruise.

The only other thing I have to do is get up to make pictures of the sunrise. Living in Tennessee, there's always "stuff" between me and the sun coming up so I take advantage of being able to see every second of it with no buildings or trees or hillsides.

Agree. Sunrise and sunset over the gulf, sea or ocean can be spectacular. Sometimes (some) clouds can make it all that much better.

I dont care about the ship coin, the ship bench, the behind the fun tour, etc. We never go to shows either.

When we board, we go to our room (have FTTF) drop off carry on, head to the Lido for a Guys Burger and a fun ship. We like to do the steakhouse the first night, and we have pre-dinner drinks at the Alchemy.

For our upcoming cruise- my priorities are to go to the comedy shows, piano bar, lay out on the serenity deck with a yummy drink, casino, and we spend a lot of time at the alchemy bar. Oh, and we eat at the sea day brunch each sea day. Everyone is different and really, each vacation may have different priorities. We dont care much about ports or excursions, we are really there to spend time relaxing and reconnecting. Life at home is crazy busy so we like the change of pace.

Besides all of the normal amenities, I'd recommend seeing the adult scavenger hunt. That was really funny. Really raunchy though.

I think you are referring to Quest which is a late night R-to-X rated game. It’s tons of fun but it gets very wild. It’s not offered on all ships, and it only happens one night during the cruise. People either love it or complain about it. There’s not much in between.

Just a suggestion, pick 2 or 3 things that you really want to do and write them on a sticky note. Put that on the mirror in your cabin. Sometimes I get so busy doing nothing at all, and I forget about the new things that I wanted to try. This little note keeps me focused.

It's the verandah deck on your ship.

You said one time only to cruise-what you will find, is that if you are still alive, you will be booking another cruise when you are done.;)

If it's a 7 days cruise with only one sea day-relax.

If it's a three day cruise, then go play all day!

So so many good ideas!! Really puts it in perspective!! Although the more I read about this being a tiring itinerary, the more I think I may use that day at sea to sleep!! LOL
