sunshine100 Posted August 27, 2018 #1 Share Posted August 27, 2018 We will be flying into Melbourne for 4 nights pre-cruise and need to get to Sydney and spend 4 nights there before embarking on a cruise. Best way to get there? What airline would be best? Not familiar with the airlines? Reliable and on time would be good!! Thank you in advance! losfp Posted August 27, 2018 #2 Share Posted August 27, 2018 Either Qantas or Virgin will do the job just fine. There's also Tiger and Jetstar, but they're budget airlines and are more prone to delays and cancellations. Given you would not have FF preferences, I'd just look at which out of Qantas or Virgin has the times and prices that work for you. I would absolutely not drive or take the train. Much easier to fly. Thank you in advance! 4 Airlines do multiple direct flights each day between the 2 cities. Qantas and its budget airline arm, Jetstar. Virgin and its budget arm, Tiger. We generally use a search engine such as Kayak or Expedia etc to check your options and then book direct with airline. Sue and Phil
GUT2407 Posted August 27, 2018 #4 Share Posted August 27, 2018 Make sure to factor in any luggage charges, I expect you’ll have a bit.

So you certainly won’t have much difficulty in getting a flight for a reasonable price. Flight time is only just over an hour. This means that you don’t really have to care if you fly a standard airline or a budget carrier.
