Rare Ensign Pulver Posted August 29, 2018 #1 Share Posted August 29, 2018 Only my second post on these great boards....first was about food, now it's about wine! I think there's a ship involved on this trip, maybe I'll get to that topic later.... Anyway, I saw someone mention no corkage fee if you bring your own bottle of wine, can that be true? I would not have even thought that possible, but if anyone can give specifics, the first round is on me! I'm on the Symphony out of Barceloney in October. Thanks to all. Clarea Posted August 29, 2018 #2 Share Posted August 29, 2018 If you bring a bottle of wine that was not obtained onboard the ship to any public venue, you are subject to a $15 per bottle corkage fee.
TizaR Posted August 29, 2018 #3 Share Posted August 29, 2018 From what I've read on other threads about this topic - they can charge a corkage fee on the wine you bring aboard, but it doesn't seem to be consistently charged across the fleet. Some crew will, some won't.

Clarea Posted August 29, 2018 #5 Share Posted August 29, 2018 Thanks folks, I'll keep any wine I bring on board in my room. Cheers! Also, they don't care how many filled glasses of wine you bring to the dining room.

BobbyD Posted August 29, 2018 #10 Share Posted August 29, 2018 On the Anthem a few weeks ago and ended up bringing in 4 bottles over the course of the week to the MDR. We were never charged a corkage fee to have them opened.
DrProfessor Posted August 29, 2018 #11 Share Posted August 29, 2018 Same here. On the Oasis end of July/beginning of August. Wife brought the bottle of wine every night to dinner. They opened it on the first night and poured it every night as well - we were never charged anything for that.

LeesSummitCruiser1 Posted August 29, 2018 #13 Share Posted August 29, 2018 We have only been charged corkage once in Giovanni's Table. We have never been charged corkage any other time since the fee was reinstituted.

cb at sea Posted August 30, 2018 #18 Share Posted August 30, 2018 There is NO corkage fee to bring 2 bottles aboard. You may pour your own wine in your cabin and take it wherever you like (but no GLASS around the pool, please)...if you take your bottle to the dining room, they may charge corkage. Just bring big glasses full!
Rare little britain Posted September 7, 2018 #19 Share Posted September 7, 2018 Thank you, have a great trip and I look forward reading your report! Hi My live review is “Symphony of thoughts...” should be on the main RCI boards. Any question please ask on there! And no corkage charged when we went to Solarium Bistro... If we bring our own wine and want to pour it ourselves in our room and carry it to MDR to ensure we are not charged the fee, then do we need to bring our own glasses from home (which isn't so easy to pack)?
