This will involve the Service Department, the Resolutions Department (the "supervisors" you are connected to, and the folks that clean up the messes), as well as the Club Royale (Casino) department. In addition, a few departments that work with Travel Agents will be moving to Guatemala as well. As many of you already know the US operations of the Crown and Anchor department has been in the process of winding down as well.

royalcedars Posted August 30, 2018 #3 Share Posted August 30, 2018 Unfortunately, this is true. I live in Springfield and know several people who work there. They had to sign a non-disclosure agreement which I am sure is why the OP is trying to remain anonymous.

Probably stay bonuses.
SamTimeDining Posted August 30, 2018 #6 Share Posted August 30, 2018 This is a shame, I book with Club Royale and enjoy their level of knowledge and professionalism every time I call.

Rare mr walker Posted August 30, 2018 #9 Share Posted August 30, 2018 Disclaimer: whilst my screen name I post under is the same name as the ambulance chaser, there is no connection. The 'Australian' RCI call centre has been in Guatemala for a number of years, and I have had nothing but good experiences. We 'downunder' have many businesses (banks, telcos etc etc) that operate off-shore call centres - Philippines, India etc. It's just the way the world operates. The company I have worked for for many years used to manufacture here in Sydney - now everything we sell is imported.

SherriZ366 Posted August 30, 2018 #11 Share Posted August 30, 2018 Some news reports that the RCI Call Center is cutting 700 jobs and outsourcing them to Guatemala and Jamaica. Is this true? Rare LMaxwell Posted August 30, 2018 #13 Share Posted August 30, 2018 I have yet to read anything from Jim Walker that has been factually refuted. He is an advocate for cruisers, not sure why he has a bad rep. I’d suspect this is true.
Beachin2 Posted August 30, 2018 #14 Share Posted August 30, 2018 The D+ desk ladies I've been fortunate to deal with in Oregon have been the best. Hope they aren't in the mix too.
Mikeandliz Posted August 30, 2018 #15 Share Posted August 30, 2018 I have yet to read anything from Jim Walker that has been factually refuted. He is an advocate for cruisers, not sure why he has a bad rep. I’d suspect this is true. Jim Walker is an advocate of cruises like Al Sharpton is an advocate of civil rights. However, they have one thing in common, they are narcissistic bottom feeders who exploit and bastardize the truth to ultimately help themselves. So, walker is a ambulance chaser, masquerading as a crusader for the cruising publics greater good. Sent from my iPad using Forums
sfaaa Posted August 30, 2018 #16 Share Posted August 30, 2018 Duh! Yet another drama from the ambulance chaser.Outsourcing has been going on for the last 20 years in all type of industries. Why is this such a surprise or even news?
molly361 Posted August 30, 2018 #17 Share Posted August 30, 2018 I "used to" make all my calls during the overnight hours and found the Oregon staff to be very helpful. I have called twice in the past couple of weeks and gotten someone from Guatemala. I asked him yesterday if the Oregon overnight office is still there and he acted like he didn't know what I was asking.
JAMESCC Posted August 30, 2018 #18 Share Posted August 30, 2018 I'm not a nutty protectionist at all. We are part of the world wether people want to acknowledge it or not but this might have negative effects. And I was hoping for RCI to enter the year 2018 and have a chat feature. You know like 99% of companies do so you can get answers to questions in real time. That definitely ain't happening now. Rare little britain Posted August 30, 2018 #21 Share Posted August 30, 2018 Unfortunately when they outsource, they lose a lot of knowledge and experience. This was clearly seen when they moved the UK call centre from England to Guatemala. You can learn a lot in a classroom but nothing beats first hand experience of actually getting on a ship and sailing and visiting the ports. chengkp75 Posted August 30, 2018 #22 Share Posted August 30, 2018 International company, follow the $$$ My thoughts exactly. It's not a US corporation, so where they have their subsidiary operations is their business. And, LMaxwell, Mr. Walker has previously misquoted me personally, distorting the facts I stated.
