AB Cabin Upsell Question

Recommended Posts

I am currently booked in a BA cabin and have the possibility of upselling to a AB cabin for 500pp. Can someone tell me what the perks of an AB cabin would be so I can justify to myself the additional $1000. (10 day cruise on the Dawn)

The AB cabin will have an extra bedroom and bathroom. The AB has a butler and concierge. There will be mobil phones that work on the ship, so you can stay in touch. Extended room service menu, you can order from any of the restaurants and have your butler serve you. Bathrobes for your use. I'm sure someone will post the list, but this sounds like a great deal for only an extra $1000. There are other perks, but I don't have time to go into detail, I'm sure someone else will post them.

Well now, let's see what I can add:

1.) More than TWICE as much space in the cabin.

2.) Whirlpool tub overlooking the ocean

3.) Enormous Master Bath with separate multi-head shower, also overlooking ocean

4.) Real Queen-sized bed

5.) Being spoiled ROTTEN by VIP treatment

6.) Updated linens, robes, bath amenities, etc.

7.) CD/DVD player with library

8.) 4 televisions including on above the whirlpool tub.

9.) Ability to have Butler serve breakfast, lunch or dinner 'en suite.

10.) Butler's Menu for room service, instead of extremely limited regular menu.

11.) I could go on and on and on! For $1,000 you'd be out of your mind not to jump on this deal!

JMHO, of course. :o

Let us know what you decide.

Thanks for the info and the opinions. When I checked the web site this morning the AB cabin was available. Then when I got ahold of NCL it was being looked at by someone else and was not "technically" available. The TA at NCL I was talking to said she would monitor it and if it came back on would call my TA with the offer. I noticed 5 minutes later it was back on but is not now....sooo I am afraid that maybe someone else has grabbed it in the meantime but I will see if I get the call...if I do I think I will jump on it...why not I deserve it....if not I am still going to enjoy the heck out of my first cruise...

ENJOY!!!!!!!!!!!

I hope that you are right but I am not sure....I will keep you all informed of the outcome....For now I wait for the phone to ring and try not to get my hopes up too high....

Be advised that once you book an AB, you will NEVER book a lesser cabin!! Have a great cruise.

DonnaAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA???????????

Did you talk to your TA???????? If you haven't heard from him/her, I'd call right away!!! Perhaps they've given the OK based on your advice, and you don't even know it's a done-deal!

The suspense is KILLING me!!!

Well I just talked to my TA and I guess that someone snatched the AB out from under me...but thats OK..I would just be spoiling myself anyway and then would never be able to go back....I am still REALLLLYYYY looking forward to my first cruise and am more than happy with the BA that I have now (considering that I started with a N)....I will just have to spend the $1000 in the casino or on shore somewhere.....I have learned so much from these boards and have saved myself loads of money already...maybe next cruise I will shoot for the AB.

Thanks for all the info and opinions...I really appreciate it.:o

Netnurse: Thanks for sharing your beautiful pictures----I can't wait until we go on The Jewel next Christmas. Just curious---would you mind sharing with me what you tipped your concierge and butler? We have a big group going and I'm trying to outline expenses as I think of them. I do understand the extra tipping is based on how much they do, how good they are, etc. But assuming they are good and everything is great, what would you recommend?

Also, it looked like you guys had a party in your room. I noticed a tray of goodies with other food around it. Do you set that up through your concierge/butler? And do you know the charge for that?

Thanks for any info. you can share and again, thanks for the great pics!:p

NICE PICTURES!!!:) What AB were you in???? We had the SAME paintings in our AB-11020. I called the ones in the living room, "The Rat Pack". (you know, Frank, Sammy, Dean and Peter) I found them interesting.........;)

Donna, Too Bad!!!:( I am sorry you did not get the AB. Next time, DON'T THINK TWICE, GRAB IT!!! You WON'T be sorry you did, trust me......

An AB is LARGER then two AF's put together, just having that much space is worth it!!!:)

Thanks for all your good wishes.

DonnaA,

Nothing wrong with a BA...You'll have a great time on your first cruise, but next time jump on that upsell. Enjoy!

We tipped the butler $150 and the concierge $50 for the 7 day cruise. We had 4 of us in the cabin. Carmen, our butler, was fantastic. She was the one that catered the party. My daughter actually hosted that party for a group of friends she made from CC! Carmen brought way too many pizzas, chips, pretzels and pitchers of iced tea for the kids. There was no charge for this service as all of the above are included on the room service menu :D We hardly used the concierge except for booking one excursion and priority tender tickets for the private island.

Have a great time on your cruise! The Jewel looks like a fantastic ship!

We were in the Diamond Suite, 10522. I'd go back to her in a heartbeat. Unfortunately I have to wait until August to sail again. :(

Hi everyone, Just got onto this thread.

I'm booked in an AB cabin for March 19th on the Spirit; I had no idea that it came with all these perks !! Yahoooooo! My husband liked the cabin because it had a whirpool tub... I liked the big balcony at the back of the ship.

Wait 'till he reads all this ! He's going to freak out !

On another note, do you get to skip lines, like at the terminal or tenders...just curious.

Thanks for the pictures and all that great info .

Christina - I'm pretty sure you get to tender first.

I am sure you will LOVE your AB on the Spirit. CruisingfromMN will be able to answer more of your questions though. She was on the Spirit last year. I think she was in an AC, if memory serves me right. She LOVED IT!!!:)

Suesan:) :) :)
