AB Cabin Upsell Question

DonnaA - I really hope you log in and see this FAST because an AB just opened up on your sailing, and I really really really want to see you get that upsell!!!!

To all of you who were crossing your fingers you will not believe what happend to me today....

First I would like to tell you that a friend of mine gave me a little necklace that she bought on a recent trip and told me that it would be lucky for me and I should wear it when I was in the casino on my cruise. Well I assured her that I would and remembered that I was going to the casino here today as a warm up to my upcoming vacation so I decided to wear it just to see. Well the necklace worked and I had a great day at the casino....and lo and behold when I got home my DH told me that he had been trying to reach me because I got a phone call from my TA letting me know that she had been contacted by NCL regarding an upsell that I had been inquiring about, and was I still interested. DH frantically tried to reach me (no cell phone coverage in the casino) to find out if I still was interested as I had pretty much given up on the idea because the whole thing was driving me a little crazy and I was becoming obsessed with the web site.....since he couldn't reach me (keep in mind that I have done all of the planning and research completely for this vacation)....he had to make a snap decision..........so what do you think he said.......YES.....OH MY GOD....If he had said no I might just have been going on this cruise by myself as he would have likely been dead shortly after my arrival home....

So to make a long story even longer....I got the upsell from a BA to AB for 500pp and to top it all off I MADE ENOUGH MONEY AT THE CASINO TODAY TO ALMOST COMPLETELY PAY FOR IT....does it get any better than that???? I think not....well maybe.... when I actually get to go on this cruise and enjoy all of the perks that my winnings will be paying for.

Thanks to all for trying to help me out and if it wasn't for all of the info you have all been so eager to share I am not sure where I would be right now....(well actually probably in the Cat N cabin on deck 4 I started with)

I can't tell you how happy I am for you. I've recently gotten an upsell into an AB on the second sailing after yours, so you and I will both get to be excited, and spoiled, and just have the time of our lives!!! Good for you. :D :D :D :D

 

BTW - not bad on the winnings at the casino, either! :p Be sure to post a review on your return, so I can read it before I sail!

You better take good care of my suite - I will be getting onboard as soon as you get off the ship - :D This is an expensive addiction and you are starting with the good stuff. You are going to have win even more money in the Casino to keep up the habit.

Donna, you are going to love it and as Shoreguy says, it is an expensive addiction that will spoil you. I was so excited with my first upsell too and couldn't wait to board that ship. You will have a great time and be totally pampered. You're going to love the Dawn and all that goes with your suite.

It may be your first cruise, but it won't be your last. You'll think of something to do with all the perks and you will love all the L'Occitane products they bring you, shampoo, conditioner, shea butter, shower gel, verbena or lavender soaps, bath salts, moisturizer spf 15, after shave balm, loofah, and more. Just thought I would tell you so you won't have to lug some of that stuff with you.

Great to know...keep those tips coming any of you who have them. I am a newbie and can use the help. I am a little unsure of what is to be expected of a good butler. Can anyone out there help me with this....?:confused:

They are so good to you and will serve you breakfast, lunch, or dinner in your room. They will also set up cocktail parties with goodies. There will be menus in your room for you to order the food. Some of the appetizers and food there will be an extra charge for, but there are a lot that are free. We only had cocktails in our room since we had all just had lunch. The AA comes with 3 bottles of alchohol, but I don't think the AB does, not sure. You can call ahead for a bar set up in your room if you want to have it though. I believe they ask you to call at least 2 weeks ahead of your sailing date. Your butler will bring you mixers too. We did have breakfast in the room most days, but didn't have lunch or dinners the last time. The first time we had dinner in the room twice. The $10 a day they post to your account does not include the butler or concierge and you will want to tip them individually. We also give our room stewards some extra cash. They are wonderful and have a lot more work to do in the suites.

You will have a cell phone with it's own number that you will be able to take around the ship with you. It really came in handy when DH would nap and then we would want to meet up. Having two bathrooms is great also. If you have any other questions, just ask.

Your butler will also bring you appetizers before dinner and goodies after. I believe you also get champagne, soda and bottled water, but not positive on that. We haven't stayed in an AB yet, but I'm sure some of those that have will know.

The concierge will set up your dining times and places for you and also take care of your priority tender tickets, reservations for shows, etc.

Bring CD's for your listening pleasure... DH and I recommend, Andreas Bocelli - Romanza. VERY romantic and there was nothing better than each evening having a drink in our room, enjoying our appetizers, getting dressed for dinner all while listening to music.
