International Cafe - recommendations

I'm sitting here at work daydreaming about the International Cafe (29 days til our next Princess cruise). We generally pass on a full lunch and grab some nibbles from here to keep us going. Our usual picks are:

 

- Ham and Cheese Croissant (grilled)

- Tomato and Mozzarella Sandwich (grilled)

- Peanut Butter Cookies - when available

- White and Dark Chocolate Mousse - when available

 

I feel we should branch out a bit so what are your "go to" items?

It's been 6 years since we've sailed Princess, but we're booked next May for the British Isles on the Crown. Six years ago, I loved the chicken salad and shrimp salad. DH liked to stop as we returned from port and grab a warm cookie in the afternoon.

I get in a rut and eat the same things too much. I love the tomato mozzarello with a little scoop of one of the salads on the side. If I don't feel like a sandwich, I go for the watermelon caprese salad. I also like the shrimp and fennel salad.

My sentiments exactly but sometimes it's great to know you are going to get great quality each time- been on some other cruise lines and nothing beats International Cafe!

 

I have to try out some of these salads I think...

Just got off the Sapphire Princess and I tried their BBQ beef sandwiches. They were very yummy!!

Tuna sandwich but open face removing half of the bun (it's just too much bread otherwise).

Forget lunch foods, I get the cinnamon sugar donut each morning it's there!! First had it with the Balcony Breakfast and then found it in the IC. Goes great with my soy vanilla latte! 92 days to go......

A couple of people already mentioned the shrimp and fennel salad...YUM! I also like the tiramisu.

Thanks for posting. I typically don't make notes on what foods to eat on a cruise but I was disappointed with the buffet on the Star and some things in the MDR but really didn't go to the IC.

Tiramisu shots! They usually just have them on embarkation day and Italian day. They are my favorite thing from the IC.

The BBQ panini is my favorite. Tried the orzo salad during my last cruise (with goat cheese and cranberries) and ended up having it 3 times. On the dessert side - pistachio cup and peanut butter cup. The PB cup never appeared on the CB in June so I hope it still exists. IC is one of my favorite stops

We get a cheese plate to keep in our room. They add fruits and nuts to it. Great to have with a glass on wine on the veranda!!

Absolutely, but not as good as used to be. Check every day to see if available.

Never paid much attention to the food at the IC...but I sure will on our cruise on Emerald Princess next week!! Glad to see this post!! IC here I come!!!!
