Sister Ships?

 Share

Recommended Posts

My first RCI (or is it RCCL?) cruise will be on the Rhapsody OTS in December. Posts on RhOTS seem to be far-between! This is probably just because she is smaller so fewer people sailing on her and so fewer questions/discussions?

The RCI website just lumps all the Fleet together, so my question is, what "class" is Rhapsody and what are the other ships in that class? So I can be alert to posts about them too.

Rhapsody is a Vision class ship. Some of her sister ships have been sold off. There is still the Grandeur of The Seas, the stretched Enchantment of The Seas and the Vision of The Seas sailing for RCI.

RCI = Royal Caribbean International = The cruiseline

RCCL = Royal Caribbean Cruises Limited = The Liberia incorporated company owning several cruiselines including RCI, Celebrity, Azamara Club cruises, Silversea (66,7% owned by RCCL), pullmantour cruceros (49% owned by RCCL), TUI cruises (joint venture and 50% owned by RCCL) and SkySea Cruises (36% owned by RCCL)

RCCL divested itself of SkySea and the line had its last sailing last month.

Stretched, like a stretch limo??? How odd to think of! Thanks all for the info!

Yes, Royal and other cruise lines have/had been doing that for yrs, though rare. Would cut ship's in half and add a middle section increasing length and adding cabins...

Thanks for that link - I downloaded that handy pdf file.

I was surprised to see Majesty has a higher guest capacity than any of the ships in the later Vision and Radiance classes. Interesting.
