Can anyone tell me how much you need to spend to get the free drink card in the casino? It says earn 1500 points and get free drinks, I spent over $300 and only earned 800 points, Staff in the casino on the Carnival Pride claimed they were not sure ??

I do not know how they calculate points for table games, but for the slot machines is $2.50 = 1 point. So, in theory you would need to spend $3750 but that is not an accurate way to think about it either. It is based on total play through the machine, time spent, average bet, etc. I have earned the DOU card a couple of times and I know I did not have anything close to $4k with me!

The most important thing to remember is it's coin in coin out. It's not a dollar figure spent or won.

The key to getting points is finding a machine that pays your bet back often or let's you play and parking your butt and playing as long as you can getting points. I'll try to explain what I mean the best I can

Say we put $100 in a slot and play until it's $15 and get a bonus for $80. Now we're down $5 but have been playing and getting those points all that time. Now we start over with that same $100 and play it to $50 and get a bonus for $30 . Now we're $80 in and keep playing back down to $20 and hit again for $60 .Now we're at $80 almost even again and keep Playing. You'll understand what I mean easier when you sit on a good game and can just play and play on the same money [emoji3]

Very often we got drinks on us on the First day on one slot machine this way

It is so hard to understand (at least for me!!) until you are sitting there accumulating points. I think you did a pretty darn good job of explaining it...Certainly shows how you can get to the 1500 points without actually spending $4000!! :D

If you spent $300 and got 800 points, I would say you should have spent about $275 more and got another 700 points. That way, you should have hit the 500 points required.

And now you have spent $575 to get a few free drinks. And I am just as guilty as everyone else. It's like they're dangling a carrot in front of us to keep us playing.

But as with any gambler, you would have spent it anyway. Might as well get a few drinks for your entertainment money.

And isn't that the Casino's job. Keep you there longer. Can't blame them. Blame yourself. It takes a very disaplined gambler to make any money.

the answer is zero... In fact on one cruise carnival paid me 400.00 to take the drink card. I invested about 25.00 and got on a winning streak and continued gambling on their money the whole cruise and came out ahead 400.00 and on day 4 of the cruise I earned the drink card.
