John,

We have never met but I have enjoyed most of the things you have posted on Cruise Critic.

We were on this Sept. 15 cruise.

Some day we will meet and I will supply you with some truth that may alter your opinion of of this thread.

meant 2502 for 2 adults, one adult is BOGO..kids under 12free..woohoo
I put in 2 adults and my 12 year old son for gs and it comes in at $4586 with d+ discount and $4755 with no d+ discount. That is with the bogo and ksf promo. Do you have the invoice?

Looking at your screenshot, it shows $5357 in the upper right corner. How did you get price down to $2502?

Thanks

Your price of $5300 with 3 adults didn't get the bogo sale price?

Then your price of $2502, was a real sale. Royals recent "sales" have not been a true bogo. Even when there is a ksf promo the first two cruiser rates are higher.

Even your $3488 rate I cant get. The $2502 included port fees and taxes? Thanks

I don’t need another cruise right now but if those prices are accurate I’ll book right now.

Wow for that price with port fees and charges i would definitely book this cruise. I have never seen a price like that for the 3 of us in a gs. Oh well, thanks for posting.

So last night a crew member was very candid about Captain Gus. According to this crew member Gus eats most of his meals in his stateroom via room service. He told me that Captain Johnny eats in the crew mess. He also said if Captain Johnny sees you eating alone he’ll sit with you.

Another crew member was complaining to me yesterday that Gus had ordered a crew drill in St. Maarten instead of Labadee. He also said that on western itineraries he has ordered crew drills in Jamaica. Apparently there are a lot of Jamaican crew members who then cannot enjoy the stop because of this.

I must say the ship is beautiful. The SL/CK staff is awesome. I do feel the experience was diluted this time by those enjoying CK/SL who did not pay for it (pinnacles). It really should be reserved only for those who paid for a $uite.

What a selfish attitude. We will soon be pin *(after an average of $2,000. per cruise and that's light) a pinnacle couple has invested over $200,000.00. You bet I'll be in suite lounge with you.

While I totally understand that a pinnacle couple has spent a lot of money to get there, those traveling in Star Class suites can easily spend your $200k in less than 5-10 cruises.

As someone who just sailed in a GS on Oasis with 42 Pinnacles on our sailing, I saw some of what the OP experienced on Harmony. We met and spoke to many Pinnacles, many of which we always got a wave or a hello as we came into CK. There were others who didn't give us the time of day, but the same can be said for some of the other suites guests. The most demanding we saw all week was not a Pinnacle to my knowledge and he was still demanding special attention at customs as we were escorted off by the concierge, he was supposed to get expedited customs and why was he behind these people, all of which were suite guests with the same expedited customs he had.

Royal Suite Class are paying a premium for advertised benefits like SL and CK. Pinnacles have earned the right to some benefits because of their loyalty, but it should not be at the expense of those who are paying for those benefits. The cruise line needs to figure out a way to please both groups without alienating either group.

Wow $200,000 in 5 cruises= $40,000 per cruise even 10 cruises= $20,000 per cruise.

Even though we could afford it I certainly would not spend anything like that on a cruise.

Having said that if those figures are true the SL should be exclusive for Suites but Pinnacles along with high D+ 350 points and over also deserve a loyalty lounge of high quality.

I promise you I’m going to do my little part so do you don’t get in. I pay a premium for a cruise to have it diluted by pinnacles. All suite guests services are diluted by having many pinnacles on board.

You should have you own lounge like some suggested on my cruise; not the SUITE lounge.

Andy... this is what Royal is doing on the Presidents Cruise. Maybe the direction they are headed.

Michael’s is really Dazzles. So P’s will be using Dazzles instead of the SL and CK access is limited to daily reservations if available.

This poster is being modest. They have and will continue to book suites just not exclusively. In fact, next month they are in b2b grands.

Have only cruised with capt Johnny on freedom and he was everywhere. Very visible and jovial captain from my observations.

Hopefully it stays that way. I’ll email you tomorrow so I can tell you about a few pinnacles while we smear foie gras on our toast.

Dazzles is a very nice venue and will be able to hold the 200+ p members onboard next week.

Royal seems to be handling the suites and p members well with this adjustment. Just what to do on regular sailings when there aren't as many p members?

Star room categories for 3 passengers on sailings that I have looked at are close to 20k or over. I have a hard time justifying that premium over a sky class stateroom. The cheapest I have seen a star class room for 3 is about $9k while crown loft is about half that price. I find if I buy the deluxe beverage package, specialty restaurant meals, pay out of pocket for dry cleaning and laundry it would still be cheaper by thousands over star class. Star class has not been worthwhile to our family but to others the experience is. To each there own and most of all just enjoy cruising.

As long as they are not in the SUITE lounge I could care less where they put them.

Hi Frank,

Our daughter had a 2br ATS this April for $8200 for 3 adults. We had a Star Loft for $6800 for the 2 of us on the same sailing. In June we had another Star Loft for $8200 minus our free Pinnacle Cruise Certificate. The price drops were about 45 days before sailing.

Enjoyed Star Class. However will stick to regular Crown Lofts in the future.
