Went to it on my first NCL cruises in 2002 and 2004. It was not there on my last couple. When did they stop doing it?

For the past 15 years I was unable to eat chocolate .Recently I have been able to and would live a chocolate buffet.

I do not miss it. Kinda of a gimmick that the guests did not really appreciate or partake in. NCL was turning 10's of thousands of pounds of chocolate into fish food each week across their [smaller] fleet.

I guess I don't. I didn't realize it wasn't on the Bliss in June. I am pretty sure it was on the Getaway last fall, but maybe it wasn't which further reinforces that I probably don't miss it.

 

And I agree that most of it was lousy with very little taste, but that can be said for most all of the deserts on NCL buffets.

totally agree. The food was wasted, except for the beauty of seeing what can be done with chocolate it was a waste of time as well. Every time time and or money is wasted the cost is passed on to us.

I've done chocolate buffets on other linrs but not NCL.

I make chocolate truffles with Belgian and Swiss chocolate. So I'm probably a choco snob...... but the chocolate itmes in the buffets have been cheap and I don't remember 1 single dish that was good.

I dont miss it, I dont miss staying up late to get it, the last few years they changed the buffet anyway, it was mostly chocolate desserts not pure chocolates.

Don't miss it at all, love chocolate but hated the mad rush and plates left all over the ship. Just wish they would bring back the pillow mints and box of godiva

I'm glad I have photos from my early cruises, but I'm OK with it disappearing. Like others have said, everything was very pretty to look at, but the flavor of the desserts was lacking and I was always disappointed most things didn't taste as good as I expected.

NCL has never done desserts well. Back then the chocolate had no flavor, still today, dessert is still the weak link in the meal.

I remember everything tasted the same, the chocolate was greasy ( which they probably added crisco) and just not tasty, Ugh, always wondered what kind of chocolate they used. I don't miss it at all

I agree with nearly everyone else, it was a complete waste of barely edible brown goo that way too many people left piled on plates in the hallways.

I can't really miss what I never got to experience. However for me that is probably a good thing, because once I start it is tough to stop when chocolate is involved. Probably one of the worst thing's I have done was the chocolate farm and tasting tour we did on Kauai a few years ago. It gave me a new appreciation of dark chocolate that I had avoided for year's. It also has caused me to avoid the lower end chocolate which hasn't done my wallet any good.
