Joebucks Posted September 25, 2018 #1 Share Posted September 25, 2018 What do you buy there that can generally be cheaper than home, or maybe hard to find/unavailable?
cruiser4305 Posted September 25, 2018 #2 Share Posted September 25, 2018 The stoli 2 pack is usually a good deal.
Rare BlerkOne Posted September 25, 2018 #3 Share Posted September 25, 2018 Nothing. For me, any small savings isn't worth the effort to lug it home, or the risk of breakage. If your cruise stops in St Martin you can find bargain prices. Easier to just go to Sam's/Costco or Total Wine/BevMo.
NavyEmt Posted September 25, 2018 #4 Share Posted September 25, 2018 Crown royal is a must for me. You save about $5 per bottle but that is comparing a 1L bottle on the cruise to a 750ml bottle at total wine. The thing to remember about the ships store sells 1L bottles compared to here in the US most stores sell 750ml bottles.
travlerdude Posted September 25, 2018 #5 Share Posted September 25, 2018 If we are driving and don't have to worry about baggage weight, then I like to get one of the huge bottles they sell! In the past I have purchased a 3 liter bottle of bacardi for 39.00, a 3 liter bottle of Crown for around 65.00 and a 3 liter bottle of Jack Daniel's for 68.00. They made great additions to my bar! I refill them with regular sized bottles! Everyone loves those HUGE bottles at my bar! Great conversation pieces!:):)
splintz Posted September 25, 2018 #6 Share Posted September 25, 2018 We usually get stoli vodka. Around $10 a liter Sent from my iPhone using Forums
schazzy Posted September 25, 2018 #7 Share Posted September 25, 2018 Last year we did the 4 liters for $40 deal on 2 Smirnoffs and 2 Bacardi Oakhearts which was cheaper than we can get locally.

The savings at the Fun Shops is minor and definitely not worth lugging around liquor bottles to save $4.

Unless its something very high end or something you cant find at home, not worth it. High end Johnny is quite a bit cheaper, thats about the only thing we ever buy. LuckyStar Posted September 25, 2018 #10 Share Posted September 25, 2018 What do you buy there that can generally be cheaper than home, or maybe hard to find/unavailable? I got two huge bottles of Kahlua for about $30. I have barely touched them.

beachbums69 Posted September 25, 2018 #15 Share Posted September 25, 2018 J Walker Blue - Excellent price (SUNSHINE 9/14/2018) $320.00 for two bottles. I am a liquor store owner in Charleston, SC and *my* buy price from local vendors is $192.00 per bottle. Although the Blue Label is for personal consumption LOL! bobsfamily Posted September 25, 2018 #17 Share Posted September 25, 2018 Now that you have to go get the liquor early in the am before leaving makes it not as attractive... On ship purchases seem easier to get than ones bought off the ship. If I do get something it's one of the big bottles...
sunshower9 Posted September 25, 2018 #18 Share Posted September 25, 2018 The only thing we've ever gotten is the Sheridan because we can't get it here at home. We wanted to get this on our last cruise but we were flying home and our bag was already at the weight limit. Next time we're driving so we plan to buy some. We bought a few other things 2 years ago and still have most of it.
Flip2cruise Posted September 25, 2018 #19 Share Posted September 25, 2018 Very true! I got some a few years ago, but actually didnt care for it much...Many buy it just for the resale value.

Just got off the Pride on Sunday and they were delivering to the cabin the night before debarkation. This must be new (once again) since they didn't do it in April. Always used to get Grey Goose on the ship (or the islands) and Johnny Walker Blue for a friend...:)
salty dingo Posted September 25, 2018 #21 Share Posted September 25, 2018 Nothing. Did it early in my cruising days, but not worth the hassle. Not going to save any money.
TEXSUN46 Posted September 25, 2018 #22 Share Posted September 25, 2018 The only thing we've ever gotten is the Sheridan because we can't get it here at home. That's only thing we get too, can't find it anywhere else. Otherwise savings on other stuff not worth dealing with to me.
boomhower Posted September 25, 2018 #23 Share Posted September 25, 2018 Usually get a bottle of my prefered Jim Beam Black. The price is the same as home but it is a 25% larger 1L bottle and no tax. Massive savings? Nope, but we drive so risk of breaking is minimal and no issues trying to fly with it.
