lindalu62 Posted January 12, 2006 #1 Share Posted January 12, 2006 Sounds as if many places in Cozumel don't accept credit cards, or am I wrong?? Am a little nervous about having to carry large sums of cash for the day. Have heard stories about pickpockets. Plus, trying to get an idea of how much cash to have for the day. Taxi's-would assume cash? Beach clubs-cash? Credit card? tips? Snorkeling trips-cash or credit? Restaurants-? Shopping? Carlos and Charlies? Would like to carry as little cash as necessary! Any tips on how to hide cash while at beach, snorkeling??

Sheffie Posted January 12, 2006 #3 Share Posted January 12, 2006 We use what we call a water wallet. It is a plastic waterproof (usually!) container that is about the size of a pack of cigarettes. (I also have one that is thinner.) It hangs from a cord around your neck. We use this all of the time when snorkeling, doing excursions, etc. In it I put my SetSail card, credit card and cash. Most places off the pier (as far as I remember) only take cash. (maybe on the pier, too, I don't know since we didn't shop there.) Hope this helps!
