Just got off of the Infinity, after visiting  Key West and Nassau on a cruise leaving Fort Lauderdale on 10/24.  Thought our room was very tired - you can see a more detailed review in the review section..  Service and Food, however, were excellent, better than our next most recent trip on the Silhouette.

OP here - i'd like to read your review , but i'll be darned if i can find it..

Tried to message you but apparently I'm only allowed "zero" messages per day!

Can you post a link or can someone tell me where how to find this review?

OP - I am so sorry!  Unfortunately, Cruise Critic has not posted my review yet.  The latest review for the Celebrity Infinity is from September!

What do you need to know?   Tired room, excellent staff; generally well managed ship.  I thought the Lido deck food was really well managed and executed.  Had a great time in the MDR, with excellent food and service.  Not sure why I have been paying extra for Aqua . . .

1st Celebrity cruise coming up on Nov 10 - 5 nights on the Infinity.

2 questions:

1) Can someone tell me on Embarkation day, how busy is the MDR for "open seating" dinner? When is a good time to go and not miss the theater show on the 1st night? (We are not early diners, so I'm currently hoping for 7:15pm time - not sure if that is too late for showtime)

2) How does future booking work while on the ship? Heard they offer good deal, but I'm be searching up and down and can't really find a date/itinerary that fit my budget and schedule yet.

Thanks in advance for your input!

We reserved our anytime dining already prior to sailing.  Much easier than trying to do it while there are 50+ other people doing the same thing...just a head's up.

We do the same. Plus we like to dine early. Booking on line we have always have been able to get the time we want.

The first night in the MDR with Select Dining tends to be mass confusion. If you really want to eat at 7:15, plan to get there at 6:45 at the latest. You will likely get a pager to let you know when your table is ready.  You can go to your Cruise Planner and make a reservation now, but for a cruise this close (11/10) it is likely most times have been booked by others so go early and get your name in. 7:00 is a very popular time especially for those who want to go to the 9:00 show.

We just came off Infinity on Nov 1.  I've submitted a review but it hasn't been posted yet.  This was our first M class ship.  In a nutshell, we found Infinity to be an older motif but well enough maintained.   Several reviews we'd read had the decor being dark and bordering on depressing.  With the exception of the Rendezvous  Lounge I'd say those reviews are baloney.  The RL is indeed dark, though, so watch you don't trip over any size 12 cowboy boots.

Not much on the downside.  The casino is extremely cramped and made worse since it was also a passage to the shops and theater.  We didn't go to any shows but some of the small venue music was extremely loud.

On the upside, the food in the MDR was possibly the best we've had on any cruise.  The Tuscan Grille was excellent as well.  Beware of the Long Island Ice Tea in the casino - they were really good.

Also, if you have any interest in engineering, logistics or ship operations we really recommend the Behind the Scenes All Access Tour.  It was fascinating.

Plus, if you reserve online you can generally get whatever time you want. If you try to do it on the ship, they'll tell you that there isn't anything after 5:30. I had made 6:30 reservations for each night which gave us enough time to go to the Elite Lounge (or get drinks elsewhere) before dinner and then get done with dinner in time for the 9pm show. Unfortunately, you have to book each day separately, checking out each time. Not a big deal for a 4-5 night cruise but a real PITA for a 15 night like our Panama Canal cruise was!

We just got off the infinity on Nov 1. The ship is well maintained, and though the rooms are a little dated  esp. The drapes....lace curtains, really? ...the cabin was pretty roomy. We had a balcony on 9. The food in the main dining room was terrific, some of the best I've had. We did not bother with specialty dining...no need to. Everyone was extremely friendly. They did a great job for Halloween...in hours they transformed the ship! My only gripe is Nassau...I felt like we were assaulted by taxi drivers, sellers of stuff no one would want, etc etc.if you are not going on an excursion, I wouldn't even get off the ship. Shows were pretty good, comedian was terrific. It was  great.

Yes, It was a pain, but better now than stand in a line later and not get our 6pm reservation...Not sure if people know about this convenience...

I just booked our 6:30 dining for our Med cruise in May.  So nice to get it done and not have to worry about doing it when onboard.  One of the terrific things about sailing with Celebrity!

It's a nice feature but I wouldn't go overboard in praising them like that. It's not like they make it easy to do, and the experience of trying to add others to the reservation leaves a GREAT DEAL to be desired.

Well, it only took me about 20 minutes to do the entire 11 nights, so I think that's okay by me.  I've not had to add other reservations, so I assume that you could easily double my time.  However, it beats getting on a ship and having to walk around with a pager for half an hour or so to wait to be seated.

Not going to disagree that it beats showing up without a reservation, and trying to get one on the ship for the time you want (like 6:30) can be impossible. Just that it's not what I'd call "One of the terrific things about sailing with Celebrity".

In my case, while I had tried to link 5 other people on my reservations, I only ended up with 4 on most nights (the others had reservations at the same time but not linked). Fortunately the MDR hostess managed to put us together every night at the same table, since we really liked the waiter we had the first night and wanted to sit with him for the rest of the cruise.

I will be on Next week. Wont expect much as is an old ship.

We cruised to Vancouver last May.  Would not recommend.  Ship def needs to be refurbished.  We had Aqua Class & it was not up to par.  Food was average at best.

We were pretty happy with the food in the MDR on our recent cruise and other recent passengers seem to have agreed. I think sometimes Blu is a problem -- we sailed Aqua once on Summit and were not impressed with Blu and have not tried it again. It may be better on other ships but I have't wanted to take a chance finding out. Plus if we do Blu, we can't eat in MDR with our CC friends.

was on Infinity for the 4 nighter last week.  Ship is very tired.  Our shower head was taped together, yes taped.  and the tape gave out the last night.  Balcony door was impossible for me to open.  Told our cabin steward and it was fixed in two days.  Luckily, my husband is much stronger than me and he opened it for me.  Food in MDR was just OK.  Buffet food was very good.  Didn't really care for much of the musical entertainment.   The biggest thing I took away from this cruise was that the bartenders and waiters were not as friendly as usual.  There was no "service with a smile".  Oh, and the martini bar ran out of glasses, and it took forever for them to get more.  and also, the wine bar ran out of wine glasses.

We just came off on 11/1 and our ship experience was 180 degrees from yours - wonder what the difference was.
