Looking for some advice regarding Xmas sailing. I have a friend on this voyage with their  10 and 18 year old and they where trying to find out what if any activities would be available?? Do anyone have any past experience. Thanks in advance 😎

Generally, there are no special programs for children on Regent except during some summer (summer in the U.S., Europe, etc.).  The Cruise Director will do some special things for children on Christmas and Christmas Eve but little else is done that is specifically for children.

We did a Christmas cruise on the Voyager (Bali to Sydney) and some of the children hung out together but, unfortunately, there are few places on the ship that are not being utilized by adults (not that this is a bad thing).  Fortunately, from what I see, the Christmas cruises this year are quite port intensive so the children will likely be happy to have quiet days on the ship after being quite active during the day.

We received an amazing deal to join that cruise, but due to that pesky thing called work, I couldn't make it happen.

We usually travel over Xmas/New Year's and have traveled with children so will relate our experiences. During the summer months, the Club Mariner program is offered which is special activities geared to children up to age 17, there is no such program during the winter months.

The number of children on board depends on the dates and the itinerary - with the dates and itinerary of this cruise, which is very kid friendly, I suspect that there may be a number of children on this sailing, esp since the dates match those of school holidays.

The activities planned for children depends greatly on the cruise director - some are much better than others with regard to planning and execution. If there are a significant number of children, there will be the Santa parade and presents for each child. Other activities have included a scavenger hunt (which was a great deal of fun and many adults also participated), make your own sundae, movie and popcorn, and games specific for children in which they earned Regent points. Since there are a number of sea days, I would suggest that your friends seek out the cruise director and inquire if any special activities are being planned.
