Just heard on the news that the replica of the Titanic is a go again after getting financial backing.  It's set to sail in 2022.  It will be as close as possible to the original but with added safety features.

IF the price is right, i would love to sail on it.

Have a feeling it will be expensive to sail on it

That's OK you can sail in steerage where you will have 4 baths to share between 800😉 a smoking room. No bar or restaurant but you will get 3 meals a day. You'll also have to bring your own life saving device for verisimilitude.

This will be interesting.  "But down in the third class, the situation was very different. There were only two bathrooms for the passengers in third class. This means that 706 third class passengers had to share two bathtubs. And these bathrooms were way aft in the D Deck. This means that the passengers in the bow had to walk a distance of at least two football fields to reach to a bathing place. However, the third class passengers like their fellow first and second-class passengers had a public lavatory system. In fact, a couple of “family” rooms were also equipped with a sink."

The article I found the above from also said that 100 years ago, people didn't bathe that often so most of them never took baths while on a cruise.  Too bad AXE wasn't invented back then.  ;-)

I sure hope it has more beam than the Titanic. Back then it was built like a battleship, not a cruise ship. The beam on newer cruise ships i would guess are almost double that of the Titanic. Beam and draft equals stability.

After the novelty wears off will it survive in today's ear of cruising?  Arcade, bowling alley, ice skating rink, racetrack, rock climbing wall, water slides, golf simulator, casino, ice bar.... at least some of these are needed!

I hope so...I don't cruise for any of the above. I think I would prefer something like the Titanic II. I'm hoping I'll be able to afford the cruise.

I have no need for any of these and try to stay on the smaller ships that do not have them. I think there is a large percentage of us looking for an experience that is closer to the golden days of cruising.

"Why are you wearing a TUX?!" "It's after 6, what am I, a farmer?"
