From the photos it looks like the bigger ship has to anchor out a bit deeper than the Sun class ships.

That may be right but they also have designated anchor drop zones and the ships position is dictated by these and obviously the prevailing current and winds.

Are you on the Marie Celeste?

I reckon John is up REAL early taking hose photos, no one about.  Nice photos though.

You may be right, but then on an itinerary like that before 8am can be very quiet.

John, loving your photos. So looking forward to boarding the Golden next week. Good to see they've replaced the blue carpet up top as it was quite bad in places - torn and quite a trip hazard.

John, wondering if when you boarded were the cabins ready? Have read a few posts on the Princess board that on some ships that you couldn't access your cabin until 1pm. Wondering if the same on the Golden now.

Enjoy Champagne Bay.

Hello Leigh

Yes the cabins are ready when you board  we just dumped our stuff and went to lunch

we arrived at the ship at about 12.15pm and it took BOUT 30 MINS to board  a bit of a zoo at station pier but no big hassle

Regards

John

Thanks John, Carnival Spirit is in next Thursday so could be interesting. I think it must be staying for Oaks Day as it has a 7.30pm departure, after arriving earlier in the week for the Cup.
