Experienced World Cruisers-Please respond

Recommended Posts

I am in my early 40's and am already dreaming about the WORLD CRUISE

I want to take---I don't know when--but I know I will one day-soon.

I want to do this while I am fairly young so I can enjoy it all while I can

still get around good and do not have to struggle.

I have some questions I hope some experienced World Cruiser

would not mind answering:

1. Did you regret booking a cruise that long? (The longest I have

ever been at sea is 12 days--will over 100 days at sea drive

me crazy? I am worried I will want to jump overboard.)

2. Should I start smaller--like maybe a 30 or 40 day trip first?

3. After going on a World cruise, did it make all of your shorter

cruises for a week or two you took afterwards seem like

"no big deal". I mean after a World Cruise--how do you top that.

4. Are most of the people who depart on a world cruise, are the

majority onboard for the ENTIRE cruise, or do most people

just take 1 or 2 segments.

5. How did you settle things at home for being away that long.

Did you have a friend or relative house-sit for you?

6. Do I have to get a bunch of shots from the doctor for all

the out of the way places I will be visiting?

Anything you would like to share, I would love to hear it.

thanks, see sic

You need to be talking to Petlover about world cruises.

They have done one and are signed up for 2007.

Look under the search section and type petlover in and you should be able

to pull up her comments as well as a way to make contact.

Marcie would be happy to explain it in details to you.

If that does not work you can send me an e-mail and I will give you other information on how to get a hold of her.

We were on the 2005 WC, but only from Singapore-Rome. Wish we could have done the entire cruise. You will not be bored. Voyager is a GREAT ship and they keep you quite busy. We never do cruises less than 10 days; normally 20-30. That's because my wife will not leave our dog for a longer period. The longer the better as far as I'm concerned. Sea days are my favorite.

Note, I think Marcie (Petlover) just began her 62-day South American cruise, and I am not sure how quickly she will be corresponding. She is beginning to post her experience on another site as she did for her first world cruise.
