"Live" From Oasis of the Seas. November 4-11, 2018 - Eastern Itinerary

Recommended Posts

Waiting in Cocoa Beach for you bring Lady O back to Port Canaveral.  Have enjoyed coming along with you on a pre-tour of the Oasis. Looking forward to my week of fun in the sun!

Where do you find your cruise attire?  Always looking for shirts for the DH!

Safe travels back to your FL home (one or two hrs away?)

Sorry to see it coming to an end.  Thanks for sharing your week at sea.  It was fun to tag along.  Good luck in the casino tonight.

Thanks for following along. Sailing on Symphony will be not to far off, thankfully.

I personally think the Izumi Fillet is the best on the ship. It has so much flavour. Those food pics killed me.

Indeed on Izumi fillet, it’s so tender. Was a great last meal of the cruise. Can’t wait to do it all again in February on Symphony.

Looking forward to following along your next cruise adventures.

Looks like I’m set for my next fall cruise. Oasis of the seas is on the list so looks like I’ll sail Oasis next December 1, 2019 out of Miami. Now to figure out what cruise will be in between sailing on Symphony in February 2019 and now Oasis December 2019.

Time to book a cruise on Oasis or one of her beautiful three sisters. Love these big girls, by far my favorite.

I am booked on the Lady O three weeks from today, plus one week in January, and one week in February.  😉

MrFunInTheSun, thank you so much for your review.  Looks like you've had an amazing cruise, and Oasis looks great too (have been on Allure).  How great that you have her booked again next Dec and Symphony in Feb?  If you're doing a  live review, I'll for sure be following along.  Safe travels home.

Thanks for the live from report.  Loved all the info, especially the cruise compasses.  We will be onboard for a B2B in 70 days.   This will be our first time on Lady O, but we have been on the Allure before.

You’re in for a treat, she’s a lovely lady. Since you’ve sailed on Allure it will feel like going home.

Thanks for following along.

When the Oasis class ships deserve not one but two areas in your home displaying their model ships.

Area One... only missing now Symphony of the seas...

Area Two all lonely with Only Harmony of Seas..

Now she’s not as lonely now that Oasis of the seas has joined her. Looks like I need to sail on Allure of the seas again..

Interesting, thanks for this, it helps me plan our meals!  My husband is allergic to shellfish so I was actually ruling this restaurant out.

Really enjoyed your review MrFun, thanks 🙂

Thank you for taking the time to do a live review with the new CC format. It was very entertaining with great pictures. Now that you have done a review with the new format what do you think of it?

Other than not having an ap I didn’t notice any difference. Before I used a 3rd party for hosting the pictures and did the same with this one. I actually had more problems with the Fbook ap trying to upload pictures and stuff there in a group that I eventually gave up. Would work right sometimes and then other times not load correctly at all.

Hi  MrFunInTheSun, Thank you very much for posting the review. Great photos and lots of fun to read. Your vacation looked amazing!

We purchased the Ultimate Dining Package for our 14 nights Transatlantic Cruise (Oasis of the Seas).

We have a few questions:

1) I think we will get $35 (per person) food credit for a la carte restaurants. We would like to know if it means $35 for lunch and $35 for dinner. Do you think $35 (especially for dinner) would be enough? We love sushi and sashimi. lol

2) For 150 Central Park, Chops Grille and Giovanni's Table, are the menus similar everyday? Do they have new items everyday? For 14 nights, we probably will visit the same restaurants at least 3 to 4 times.

3) If we like certain things from the dinning room. Would that be available at the Specialty Dining Restaurants too?

4) We have prepaid gratuities. I believe that gratuities is included in UDP. Do we need to do anything to make sure that the Specialty Dining Restaurant staffs get both portions of the gratuities.

5) Did you get all your preferred dining times when you make your reservations? Did you make any changes after? Was it difficult?

Any suggestions are welcome.

Thanks a lot.

🙂 🙂 🙂

Thanks so much for taking us along - what a great break from my normal work week!  Loved your sense of humor and outlook, and already looking forward to the next review.  Any chance you'll post here when you start your new review?  At least then we can be notified so we can follow along again.

Now I'm going to go back and read your previous review which I unfortunately missed when it was live!

1- $35 is more than enough. They allot that  amount for dinner or lunch.

2- Menus are the same every day for both lunch and dinner. Lunch and dinner menus are different though.

3- No. though on lobster night they will sometimes serve lobster with what meals you choose.

4- Gratitudes are included with package. I did tip extra for each meal though.

5- I’ve done both I’ve done my schedule for the week once I boarded and this past week we done some as we went. You can’t book them all prior to boarding the ship. Not difficult at all and they are very accommodating.

Check our my signature as there are some other really old “Lives” from Allure of the seas and a few on some Carnival ships.

I’ll be sure to post in here once I begin my “Live” Symphony of the seas in February.

Great report! I was on the same sailing and just knew if I looked close enough I’d see myself in your report-finally found the back of by head on the boardwalk near the end!

Just one correction: there were pier runners in St. Maarten! We were standing on our 6th deck aft balcony and at 4:58 ship time (dark by now) 2 guys came running BAREFOOT at full tilt towards aft gangway of the ship! Then 3 minutes later, a girl passed out in the back of a golf cart was driven to the gangway (I hope she was ok-I suspect she was the drunk girl who caused the 2 barefoot pier runners). Finally...and I couldn’t believe it, a few minutes past 5:00, a family with kids and a stroller were zipped to the gangway by a speeding golf cart! Under 60 seconds passed between the time the gangway was pulled & the time we were sailing away from the dock. The whole process amazed me!

You were in many of the same places as me during the same times-the Boardwalk, Emerald Beach, the Pool decks, and definitely the casino! But I was with a party of 15 & lots of kids (including my own young kids) so meal times weren’t in any of the specialty restaurants. It all looked great from your report!

Thanks again for the great report-was fun to relive the week through the eyes of someone who had a very different (and definitely more relaxing) trip than me on the same ship-it was a great week!

I was on Symphony TransAtlantic when you were doing this review!  Glad it was here for me to read when I got hom!!  I see a few familiar faces also followed along!!  Silky Sal!!!  I have not cruised with you in quite a while, and when I did, I think my friend Kay was with me and not my husband!!

MrFunInTheSun...... you did an awesome job as usual!!  If I knew how to post photos, I would post the one of the shuffle board you asked about on Symphony which is on the running track off to the starboard side.  On the port side, they have ping pong tables.  I had to retrieve a bouncing ball once on one of my walks!!  LOL

Looking forward to your next review on Symphony!  I left some alcohol on there, although we did our best to drink it all on the crossing from Barcelona to Miami!
