crusin'k Posted November 11, 2018 #1 Share Posted November 11, 2018 We are looking at a cruise on Zuiderdam in Feb 2019. We have never stayed in a cabin that was "up front" but are considering either 4018 or 4017. Neither of us have ever experienced motion sickness but we are wondering if anyone can offer any feedback regarding motion in these rooms. The cruise is a 10 day partial canal voyage. Any feedback would be helpful.
Krazy Kruizers Posted November 11, 2018 #2 Share Posted November 11, 2018 The concern I would have -- you are right above the show lounge -- can be very noisy late at night.
crusin'k Posted November 11, 2018 Author #3 Share Posted November 11, 2018 Thanks for the tip. Didn't even think to look for that.
CM1984 Posted November 12, 2018 #4 Share Posted November 12, 2018 Yes, Cabins on Decks 5-7 are better since you'll experience less sound. We have been in Forward Cabins and have experience no problems. Deck 7 Forward on the Eurodam to Alaska, some rough chop on the ocean, but no problems. Hope you have a wonderful trip. vkmtlqc Posted November 12, 2018 #5 Share Posted November 12, 2018 Deck 6 forward worked very well for us. No noise, no sea sickness.

That is the first thing I was thinking of too KK! Cabins deck 5-7 midship would be great as suggested. Have a wonderful cruise Denise😊
Rare Scrapnana Posted November 13, 2018 #7 Share Posted November 13, 2018 I was in a forward facing cabin on Westerdam and loved it. I booked it again for the next year and then I booked a forward facing cabin on the Amsterdam. I don't feel any more motion in the front of the ship than any where else but I am not prone to seasickness.
smokesmom Posted November 22, 2018 #8 Share Posted November 22, 2018 We were forward on Deck 10 of the Zuiderdam on the 10 day Canal and we were fine with the motion.
