I’ve never been on an ultra cruise. So far it seems that the ultra is like a premier, but more and bigger prizes. For example, a $2k drawing nightly, plus more games to win more money.

The elite cruise I’ve been earlier this year didn’t have as many chances to win money...

Thanks for posting this!  We will be on the Vista 3/3 for our first Ultra and are excited.  What big prizes did y'all win?  Do you have any other pictures of the gifts that were in the cabin or delivered to the cabin?  We also turn Platinum on this cruise!

I thought maybe they did away with the individual gifts since there are so many drawings.  That is a lot of invitees and guests.  I could see, it would be more difficult to get picked for a drawing.  I was on a Premier Plus in September and there were only 30 to 40 invited, plus guests.  They had many drawings and me and my husband got picked six times.  It was not crowded at all. We loved the Premier Plus.  I will be on the Breeze next week for the Ultra and I guess it is going to be packed.  Thanks for posting the events.  I guess the Breeze events will be similar.  Is the 12:30 am drawing for $2000 for free play and do they keep calling till they get a winner?  Good luck in the casino.

First how do you get a Premier Plus invite? lol.  Next how was your Ultra on the Breeze?  Thanks for any info!

Was on the Vista with you for the Ultra. I am a big Carnival fan, but that Vista casino was a mess for table games. I can't believe someone allowed those narrow aisles, especially those tables along the outside wall. Chairs were touching back to back in the aisle, so no room to walk through and no way to bring a wheelchair or scooter through. And then the Ultra games blocked the only walkway through. The whole area just seemed like bad design.

The smoke was extra, extra, extra. I'm used to the smoke, but I asked my wife if she thought the smoke was way worse than any other ship...right when the smoke alarms and sprinklers went off. And the nearest men's restroom was half a ship away.

We still had fun especially with the games but Vista is the lowest on our pick list of ships now. Oh, I won $225 in dodge the bull and the Apple Macbook. How did you do?

We agree with you and almost everyone else we talked to how horrible the casino is on the Vista!!  Our first impression walking up the stairs from our room on deck 2 and smelling the smoke as soon as you set foot on deck 4 was not a good sign and we were only onboard for an hour at this point.  We were there for the "water show" at that time also, my husband got a video of it.  Apparently some guys were vaping and maybe set off the water sprinklers on purpose over the bar in the casino, well that activated at least a good 1-2 min rain shower, there was standing water around the bar they had to bring in wet vacs and fans for and shut down a bank of slots.  The smoke was the worst ever, why can they find a good ventilation system, air filters or put sliding doors in that open to outside to air it out??  Way to cramped for space too.  We heard they forgot to put the casino in the original plans so thats why its cramped on deck 4 and the mens restrooms are not where they should be.

We had fun too but don't care to go back on the Vista due to the casino and were also disappointed in the spa thermal suites.  Please bring the Breeze back! lol  We both won $300 in shoot to win and my husband won $350 cash (last day) on matilda.  I got the I pad pro and he got the $1000 Amazon gift card.  I wish I would have found someone to trade the I pad for an I phone as I need a new one and when I had a family member that works at an Apple store check on trading in my "new" I pad it shows as refurbished and bought through a business!!  I'm not too happy about that as it was presented as new.

This was our first Ultra and we enjoyed it but spent way too much time in the casino waiting to hopefully get picked for games/prizes.  I wish they would have larger blocks of free time to enjoy the ship, I know it was our choice to be present for them.

Does your guest also get to participate in any Ultra prize giveaways?

Your guest will be included in the scheduled event drawings ( Matilda, shoot to win, fill my bag, etc) but not the individual gift giveaway, unless they received their own Ultra invite.

I just got off another ultra cruise today. They still  have the apple gifts, but now offer cash instead of the gift if you want. For example they were giving $300 cash for the watch, $500 for the iPad, $800 for the iPhone 10xs, $1000 for the Mac book pro, $600 for the surface pro, etc.

Good to know.  Thanks for the info.  Did you get the list of the next set of Ultra cruises?  I got the email that they are coming out on the 8th.

When you say CASH you mean Casino cash(fUNPLAY), correct? Which is definitely DIFFERENT than ACTUAL cash.

Additionally on your Ultra cruise, during the individual prize giveaway, if you chose the Ultra cash wheel, do you remember if the Cash prize is Casino cash (FunplAY) or ACTUAL cash?

Sometimes, depending upon the ship, they give out cash or fun play. I received $1000 cash for cruising and another $800 for the iPhone I didn’t want.

Yes, found that out on a recent Ultra cruise on the Horizon. I think the rules should be consistent across the fleet with regards to whether Funplay or actual cash is given(BIG DIFFERENCE). It should CLEARLY be disclosed. The wheel says Ultra CASH WHEEL , not Funplay wheel.

To me, fun play is the same as cash. It’s treated as cash. When I win at the tables they give me my winnings in regular chips and trade the fun chips for regular chips. Not as in most land based casinos which will only give me the winnings and take the promotional chips.

How is it remotely like cash? If you get $300 Funplay, you HAVE to play it in the casino, and you may, or may not get $300 back. If they give you Cash, you can CHOOSE not to play it and take home $300.

It does resemble cash a lot except for maybe 1%. If we ever meet I'll give you 95 cents per dollar Funplay, deal?

Deal. I gamble. I see people do stupid plays with the fun chips, like bet 1/2 on black and red on roulette. Why?

I would be playing Black Jack because some very easy rules make it a much better game than roulette. However, even American  roulette with 2 zeros on the wheel is just slightly worse than my offer, 5.26% for the house. If I'm not available, even roulette is an easy way to convert fun chips to money if you don't put in all your money at once. Yet, house rules might not allow betting on red and black at the same time. Why? I really haven't got a clue.

Some of the carnival ships now have triple zeros...

I don't like roulette anyway 😀. But I do wonder how many people would like the Monopoly board game when every 12th turn would be "you landed on Income Tax". For BJ, granted with perfect play, you hit Income Tax once or twice a night https://wizardofodds.com/games/blackjack/calculator/ and the Income Tax is hidden very well.

Playing black and red makes it so the player can NEVER come out ahead. People think do so with funchips guarantees they will at least get half back as cash. I've seen green hit a few times when people were doing that. Would be better to play pass/don't pass line in craps and avoid the 5.26% chance to lose everything.

I don't know about craps, but to prevent losing all I said to not put all in your money at once.
