Conflicting news. Now I got word that the Eastern charter B767 is on the ground in SJU. Not the main terminal, but on the other side of the airport at the cargo/private aviation area. ljz0000 Posted November 20, 2018 #129 Share Posted November 20, 2018 How are they working out who goes on which flight? Is it random? We are on Deck 11 and barely any of the staterooms on the upper decks are being called.

Since the ship won't be under their own power and is being towed, you never know what could happen. I guess they could do it if they had everyone that wanted to stay on sign a waiver that if they got hurt or someone died no one could sue NCL, but the way the world is today, I doubt any passenger would sign that. Cruising Latitude Posted November 20, 2018 #133 Share Posted November 20, 2018 (edited) There is a good possibility some pax will be transported to locals hotel for tonight because there won’t be enough flight seats to get everyone off. 30 minutes ago, ljz0000 said: How are they working out who goes on which flight? I don’t know their method but I know if you have a preference you can let them know and they will accommodate as well they can. Our neighbors told the guest service they prefer to stay on the ship as long as they can and the guest service made a note of their room number and so far they haven’t been called. (That includes the Eastern flight getting out today, presently on maintenance.) The flights are: World Atlantic Airlines #902 MD83 Eastern Airlines #8001 B762 Omni Air Express #330 B763 World Atlantic Airlines #903 MD83 The above does not include any passengers that were able to be but on scheduled AA flights today. I am sure they are trying to get more flights but it will be hard over the Thanksgiving holiday here in the US. If I see more flights appear I will try to update hte list. Two new flights have shown up: Atlas Air #8063 B763 scheduled to leave at 6:00pm AST (255 more seats) Miami Air International #696 B738 to leave at 9:50pm AST (Either 168 or 118 depending on the layout they bring) I will continue to try to get information to all of you! Cruising Latitude Posted November 20, 2018 #144 Share Posted November 20, 2018 (edited) Is SJU the only airport they use? One NCL rep told me there might be multiple PR airports involved though I had a feeling he didn’t know what he was talking about. SJU is the only airport they're using BUT the confusion might be that some charter flights are leaving from the regular passenger/commercial/airline terminal and others are leaving from the cargo area of the airport way over on the other side, handled by Jet Aviation, a private/corporate airplane terminal or FBO. Also, the airport you see right next to the ship is not SJU, but a small executive airport. SJU is 5 miles to the east of the port.
Aviator of the Seas Posted November 20, 2018 #146 Share Posted November 20, 2018 (edited) Anyone following this thread assigned to (perhaps, maybe, depends) the late evening flights? Edited November 20, 2018 by Aviator of the Seas typo
bravestwj Posted November 20, 2018 #147 Share Posted November 20, 2018 After waiting and waiting, we decided to forego the NCL Charters and booked Delta flights for tomorrow morning and got a nice room at the Marriott Resort and Casino. After reading this thread of the issues with late flights last night, we decided we didn't want to be in that situation and we have travel insurance that should cover the expenses. Good luck to all our fellow passengers.

A couple on the ship was to get married at St.Thomas. They lost all of their deposits for the venue and vendors they were using for their wedding and now are not sure when they will be able to get married. Their marriage license is no longer good and all of their family traveled with them on the cruise for their big day. We also found out that two couples on this cruise were on their honey moon and don’t know when they will be able to do another one since they used all of their PTO for their wedding and this trip. So just remember, this trip was vacation for most of us but was something much more for others. This is why destination weddings and cruise weddings is a horrible idea. Thought it might seem perfect its running into stuff like this that will make you regret it.
